Telc is small and lovely city in South Moravia. It's on UNESCO list so if you will be in this area you should make half-day trip and see this pretty city.
Telc is a UNESCO World Heritage Site most noted for 17th century Renaissance chateau with an English-style park (a rebuilding of original Gothic castle), the famous town square, a long plaza with Renaissance and Baroque houses featuring high gables and arcades.
Residents of Telč, a small town in south Moravia, were once quite competitive about the beauty of their homes, as is evident today on the elongated main square, where one building is lovelier than the next. The Baroque- and Renaissance-style façades, featuring high gables painted in pale pastels, now support small shops and cafés. A grand Renaissance-era château and large fish-filled ponds surround the square.
This was our first stop on our way into the Czech Republic. Nice town with some interesting architecture. I also liked the houses with the decorated facades.
