Great ski town - one of the most well known in Austria. Kitzbuhel is an easy drive from Munich airport. The skiing itself is good, though not the best in Austria, but the town is charming and has some very fun restaurants, shops and great bars.

It's called the Almabtrieb. Basically every summer dairy farmers in Tyrol march their cows up to Alpine pastures and then march them back down to town in the fall. It's a dicey business; cows fall or are sometimes struck by lightning. If, however, no cows are lost when the herd comes back to town the farmers and locals show their appreciation with a big parade. The cows are marched through town with flowers and pictures of saints on their heads. The townspeople cheer them on while imbibing generously.
