Donegal Airport (CFN) is the main airport in the area, and is locally known as Carrickfinn Airport. The airport itself is very small, and sits directly on the north-west coast of Ireland. There’s not much in the way of entertainment at the airport, so bring a good paperback.

Airlines that fly to Donegal

Flybe run Loganair operated flights from Glasgow to Donegal. At the moment this is the only scheduled airline flying direct from the UK to Donegal.

Getting into Donegal

Car hire is available at the airport via Enterprise, and is a good idea if you’re planning on doing a lot of exploring as the public transport in rural Ireland can be rather sporadic. Speaking of which, there’s no public bus from the airport into Donegal however you can hire a taxi or coach in advance. Hughes Taxi, Josie Joe’s Larsson Cabs, and Cronan Mac Mini Bus and Coach Hire are all recommended by the airport.
