Where to hire a car in Mykonos Airport
There are a number of car hire companies operating from Mykonos Airport. Car hire desks for Hertz, Avis, Moto Speed S.A, and Sixt can be found in the arrivals lounge. Europcar offices can be found just outside the airport however, they have a meeting point situated in the airport. A representative will meet you there and take to the office, 32 metres away.
Petrol Stations near Mykonos Airport

Most of the petrol stations are situated near the main town. The nearest to the airport is a Shell garage that is 3.5km in distance (head North West on the main road coming out of the airport) and will take you around 8 minutes to reach.
Driving around Mykonos
There is one main road that circles the island, the Epar.Od. Mikonou. Towns and tourist attractions are well signposted, making it easy to explore the island by car. Some roads in Mykonos are very narrow and winding and therefore have many blind spots. Be aware of other road users on scooters and quad bikes, as they can be hard to see. It is also important to note that when travelling to Mykonos in July and August you may encounter strong winds whilst driving.
Driving to your destination
The capital of Mykonos holds many of the islands gems. Take a stroll around Little Venice, enjoy the busy nightlife or say hello to the famous pelican, Petros.
Mykonos is 4km from the airport and takes around 10 minutes to drive to. Head North West on Epar. Od Mikonou. Drive for around 8 minutes and then follow signs for the turn off into the main town. The centre of town is pedestrianised; however there is parking available on the seafront in the old port.
The village of Glastros is home to many of the most popular beaches on the island so take a drive alongside the idyllic coastline, then relax in the sun.
Glastros is 2km from the airport and is a 6-minute drive. Head North West on Epar. Od Mikonou (turning right out of the airport) and turn off when instructed to do so by road signs.
Rated as the top beach on the island, this sandy coast has great views of Naxos Island, plenty of sun loungers, great restaurants and an array of water sport activities are available on the beach.
Located on the South East side of the island, it is 10km in distance from the airport, 20 minutes away. Turn left out of the airport onto Epar. Od Mikonou via Ano Merias. When you reach Ano Merias, turn right and follow the road to the coast. Parking is available on the sea front.
