Airports in Aalborg

Aalborg Airport (AAL) is four miles from the city centre. It’s a dual use airport, used by the military as well as civilians. The airport is small, but has a couple of shops and places to grab a bite before you fly. One hour of free Wi-Fi is offered at the airport through The Cloud, or you can get unlimited internet by booking into the VIP Lounge. Lounge access costs 149dkk (about £15.30)* or is free with some KLM, Air France, British Airways, and SAS tickets. 

Airlines that fly to Aalborg

Norwegian Air Shuttle flies between the UK and Aalborg. You can fly from a range of European destination with airBaltic, Sun Air of Scandinavia, Danish Air Transport, KLM Cityhopper, Lufthansa CityLine,  Primera Air, Scandinavian Airlines, and Turkish Airlines. Seasonal flights are operated by Vueling, Niki, and Atlantic Airways. 

Getting into Aalborg

There are plenty of public buses from Aalborg Airport into the city. Lines 2, 22, 70, 71 and 200 all offer regular services. Taxis are available outside the terminal building, and cost around 170dkk (about £17.50)*.  It’s also possible to hire a car at the airport from Avis, Budget, Hertz, Europcar and Sixt. It’s always best to book your car in advance so that you’re guaranteed a vehicle upon arrival.
