What is Oman Air's hand baggage allowance?
Oman Air passengers are in for a treat: you can bring both a personal item and a cabin bag with you on every flight! Even if you buy the cheapest fare, Economy Super Saver, you'll still get 7kg of cabin baggage allowance to bring with you on board.
It's pretty generous by most airline standards, and incentive to fly with them, we'd say. What's more, you're allowed multiple cabins bags if you're booked onto Business Class, and get extra weight allowances if you're in a higher tier of the airline's loyalty scheme, Sinbad.
Here's how Oman Air cabin baggage allowance works:
Oman Air's | Oman Air's | Number of bags allowed on board |
|---|---|---|
Total dimensions: 115cm (add length, height and width) | All fares: Sinbad members (all fares except Economy Saver): | Economy Super Saver, Comfort and Flex: 1 piece Business Comfort, Business Flex and Business Studio: |
What is Oman Air's checked baggage allowance?
How much you can check into the hold on your Oman Air flight is determined by the total weight of all your bags (though no single piece should weigh over 32kg).
Naturally, the pricier your ticket, the more you can bring, though it's worth knowing that there's no limit to the number of items you can check in, as long as their total weight is within your limit.
Hold baggage policies change a little if you're travelling between India and Canada: they become be determined by pieces, not weight (2 pieces in Business up to 32kg each, 2 piece in Economy up to 23kg) and the excess fees change to £108.40 ($200CAD) per piece in Economy and £54.20 ($100CAD) per piece in Business.

What are Oman Air's extra baggage fees?
If you're looking to add extra bags, bring oddly-shaped packages or check in bags which are overweight, you'll be charged depending on which category your items fall into.
Oman Air separates its excess luggage into three categories: Standard Baggage, Special Baggage and Large Special Baggage. They're delineated by bag size, and costs are decided by weight and destination. It's actually one of the simpler airline systems for excess baggage!
Travelling with a TV? The rules are a bit different. TV's are subject to their own rates according to size.
Screens up to 43 inches can be part of your included baggage allowance (if it's over your weight limit, you'll need to pay a fee per 23kg). TVs between 43 and 55 inches will cost between £61.10 ($81) and £255.85 ($339) depending on your destination, while 55 inch plus TVs need to be shipped as cargo.
Additionally, if you're travelling outside of the Oman Air network your extra bags will be charged per piece, per concept. Oman Air provide an estimated costs as below:
up to 20kg baggage: £225.67 ($299)
Standard Special Baggage: £255.14 ($338)
Large Special Baggage: £36.23 ($48)
