Engaged with two staff members, both very friendly and always confirming information.
Breakfast: 2 pieces of bread + 1 teaspoon of peanut butter (this is easy to laugh at).
One of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever sleep on in all the hostels I’ve been on across the globe. I slept so good!!!
Location: 10mins walk to town center. 20mins walk to the port
Amenities: there really isn’t any. A bar of soap in the shower, free instant coffee and sugar upstairs with a water (hot/cold) dispenser upstairs in the lunge. I love the lounge. East to just chill and it’s all open air. Hope you don’t mind roosters never knowing what time it as, cause they cock-a-doodle-doo all day!
I would stay again, but wouldn’t be my first choice, old like to stay in the town center, but would sleep here again, if just for the nice bed.

Excellent hostel in a quiet location
The Bakawan Hostel is located on a side road. The dormitories are well soundproofed, the bed is soft and has its own power outlet, and each guest is provided with a locker. For breakfast, we had pancakes with honey and fried eggs, and toast with butter and jam. The receptionists were very helpful. You could book day trips, diving tours and scooters at the front desk. On the top level, there is the dining area and the common area.

Expectations met!
Booked 4 nights at Bakawan Hostel. It's a bit better than I expected as there were only 2 guests (including me) in the entire hostel -- like we owned the place. Rooms are very clean and comfy. They have strong water pressure (a nice hot shower after a long day-tour is really nice to come back home to), the A/C was working very efficiently too. They also have fast wifi -- which is important when you are travelling. Their roof deck is a very nice place to chill at. Jason, the front-desk person, was very accommodating - he always checks on the guests before he leaves work. I don't mind booking with Bakawan again in the future.
