Beautiful rice terraces at every turn. It's a grueling drive up the mountain, but the views are worth it. Head to Bataad if the rice terraces are really what you want to see. If not, drive through here on the way to Sagada for outdoor fun.

Banaue is a a town high in the mountains with it own rice terraces. The town itself is not much to speak of, but it is a staging area for some great treks, especially to Batad. Would be best to spend as little time as possible in Banaue and instead maximize time in the outer villages where there is no traffic.

Haggiyo Ifugao! .... The home of the world famous Rice Terraces! Philippines has a lot to offer, best hospitality, white Sandy beaches, exotic foods, unique cultures. It's more fun in the Philippines!!

The rice terraces of Banaue were constructed by hand beginning around 2000 years ago, and farmed continually since then. If you've never seen proper high-altitude step-terrace farming (or even if you have), the scene at Banaue resembles a garden of the gods, with steep mountainsides carved and sculpted into smooth curves on an enormous scale. Banaue is also the jumping-off point for some lovely treks in the surrounding Cordilleras mountains.
