Juan Gualberto Gómez Airport (VRA) serves Cuba’s Matanzas province, and the city of Varadero. It’s the second busiest country in the country, second only to Jose Marti International Airport in Havana.

Thomas Cook Airlines fly direct from a number of UK destinations to Varadero. The most convenient indirect flights are available through Air Berlin, Arkefly, and Jetairfly. 

Getting into Varadero

Buses are available from the airport to the town centre. Day tickets cost 5 CUC (roughly £3.30).* There are taxi ranks at the airport, and a trip into Varadero costs between 25-30 CUC (roughly £16.50-£20)*. You can also hire a car at Varadero Airport, which is a great option if you like to explore independently.
