The vibrant nightlife of the city’s Praca Popular has lent weight to the rumour that the best beer in Brazil is served in Cuiaba, but the city is also famous for its wildlife. Getting into Cuiaba

Marachel Rondon Airport is only 10km away from Cuiaba city centre, making it easy to reach the city by public transport or taxi. Taking a taxi from the airport to the city centre will cost somewhere in the region of R $30, but it’s worth confirming with the driver before getting into the car.

The buses in Cuiaba are fast and reliable, and are less expensive than a taxi. You can catch a local bus from just outside the airport, at the Las Velas Hotel. Buses heading to ‘Shopping Pantanal’ will drop you around 200m away from Praca da Republica in the town centre.

Another option is to rent a car at the airport, where most of the large car rental brands are based. Although Cuiaba can be a difficult city to drive in, due to the narrow streets and one way systems, having your own car will serve you well if you want to get out and about and explore the rest of the region.
