There are no direct flights from the UK to Jacksonville. If you’re flying to Jacksonville it’s likely that you will need to stop over in another US city first. Airlines flying from American cities to Jacksonville include Allegiant Air, American Airlines, American Eagle, Delta Air Lines, Delta Connection, JetBlue Airways, Silver Airways, Southwest Airlines, United Express, US Airways, and US Airways Express. 

Getting into Jacksonville

Public transport is available from JTA bus route CT-3, which can be caught at the Pre-Arranged Ground Transportation Area. One way tickets cost $1.50 (just under £1).* Taxis are also available from the airport. It should cost around $46 (just under £30)* for a taxi to Jacksonville Beach, but do confirm prices with the driver before setting off. Like all American cities, Jacksonville is very car friendly. You can hire a car at the airport from Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, or Thrifty.

When to fly to Jacksonville

The best time to visit Jacksonville is during the “shoulder season”, from March until May and September to November. This is just before and just after the high season is in full swing, so you can usually get great deals on flights and hotels. Temperatures are still pleasant, with highs ranging from 22-28°C, but the beaches are less crowded. 

Lots of events take place in Jacksonville during spring, including the Jacksonville Jazz Festival and the Mug Race in May, and Springing the Blues in April. During October and Novemeber there are a few interesting events including the Georgia vs Florida football game and the Light Parade.
