Getting into Ancona

You can catch the train from Castelferreti station or take advantage of the two bus lines, J and S, which run from the airport into the centre of Ancona. Public transport in this part of Italy can be quite unreliable, so if you’re planning on doing a lot of exploring it’s worth hiring a car. Global companies Avis, Europcar, Hertz and Sixt all have bases at the airport, as do the local rental agencies Autoeuropa and Autonoleggio Magellano. If you’re going straight to your accommodation you can catch a taxi outside the terminal building, or prearrange airport transfers with one of the many local cab firms.
