Monaco doesn’t have its own airport, so if you’re planning a holiday to Monte Carlo your best bet is to fly into Nice Côte d'Azur Airport (NCE). The airport is the main entry point for tourists visiting France’s glittering southern coast, and is also the closest to Monaco.

British Airways, BA CityFlyer, EasyJet, Jet2, Monarch Airlines and Norwegian Air Shuttle all offer direct flights from UK airports to Nice Côte d'Azur. From there it’s possible to find onward transportation into Monte Carlo.

Getting into Monte Carlo

If your limousine driver isn’t on hand to greet you, don’t panic. There are plenty of other options for getting into Monte Carlo from Nice Côte d'Azur Airport. The Express bus 110 runs regularly from the airport into Monaco, with one way tickets costing €20* (roughly £15.90) and return tickets costing €30 (about £23.90). There’s a taxi rank outside the airport, with fares into Monaco costing €72-€77* (roughly £57.30-£61.30) during the day and €81-€92 (£64.50-£73.25) if you’re travelling after dark. You can hire a car at the airport from Avis, Firefly, Europcar, Hertz, Enterprise, Interrent or Sixt.
