Melbourne Airport
Melbourne Airport, also known as Tullamarine Airport has 4 terminals, Qantas flights to Sydney depart from Terminal 1, Virgin Australia flights depart from Terminal 3 and both Tigerair and Jetstar flights to Sydney depart from Terminal 4. Passengers travelling on flights to Sydney should arrive at the airport at least one hour before the scheduled departure time of the flight. Check-in at the airport as well as online in advance are both available from all airlines on domestic flights.
Each terminal has a selection of shops such as Tech2Go, WHSmith, Sunglass Hut and Beach Culture. Places to eat includes restaurants, cafes and juice bars such as Boost Juice, Hudsons Coffee, McDonalds, The Fly Bar and Chop Salads.
Free Wi-Fi access is available at all terminals at Melbourne Airport.
Sydney Airport
Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport which is just 8km from Sydney has three terminals, Terminal 1 is for international flights and Terminal 2 and 3 are both domestic terminals. Jetstar, Virgin Australia and Tigerair flights arrive into Terminal 2 and Qantas flights arrive into Terminal 3.
The arrivals halls have cash machines, information desks, car rental and onward travel information points as well as free Wi-Fi. Car rental companies located here include Avis, Hertz and Budget.
There is a train station at the airport, located a short walk between Terminal 2 and 3. Services into Sydney city centre depart every 10 minutes and take just under 15 minutes on the City Circle Line. A single fare is $17.40. Sydney Buses Route 400 departs from the Terminal 3 at the airport and runs to Burwood and Bondi Junction. Travel cards and tickets can be purchased from convenience stores in the arrivals halls.
You will find taxis outside of the terminal buildings. A taxi from Sydney Airport to Sydney will take around 15 minutes and cost $45-55 depending on your destination.
