Fabulous location in the heart of Western Lakes

Fantastic rooms and food from Barbara Rob and the team at Gosforth Hall Inn. 2nd time we have stayed over the May Bank Holiday and it's a perfect place to stay if you are coming over to this part of the Lakes. We stay top floor room number 6 which is a really spacious room and the shower and heating floor in the bathroom are great. will definitely be returning again.

Lovely Stay

We wanted a a nice getaway for our anniversary without travelling too far and this seemed to fit the bill. Check in was quick & easy, despite the young chap being kept v busy with bar duties. The weather was incredible, so the amazing beer garden (must be one of the best in the area?) was busy & buzzing with people enjoying sun, drinks and afternoon tapas. Our room was in the hall and full of character, but still had all expected amenities. Be aware some rooms in the hall are accessed by a steep staircase which may not suit everyone! No complaints wirh breakfast - freshly cooked and not greasy in the least. The best thing about the stay was the staff, who without exception, were amazing. A good base for exploring the local lakes/fells, or if you are visiting on business. Would certainly stay again.

Great value, warm and accommodating pub hotel

We had a fabulous day here. We’d walked Scafell Pike during the day and booked an Annex as we have a dog. Barbara was so warm and welcoming - she told us about local spots and where to go, and even moved round a few things so she could fit us in for dinner that evening (I’d recommend booking ahead on a Saturday). Food was good pub food, drinks great, dog was SPOILT (many sausages from the kitchen) and we had a great time. Rooms had everything you needed, and breakfast in the morning was absolutely delicious. Well worth the visit if also climbing the mountains and want somewhere to crash.

Absolutely perfect

To be honest this is the best place I’ve stayed in west Cumbria by a mile.
The staff are amazing and incredibly friendly, such a welcoming place. it’s amazing beer garden, really good food cooked by more friendly staff, a real home from home wity a touch of luxury.
Lauren who I believe is the general manager is truly amazing and makes you feel very comfortable, nothing is too much trouble she’s a shining star as is Louis is a bundle of fun and always happy to help.
It’s a genuinely lovely place to urgency high end deco but very sensibly priced.
Will be back for sure and can’t wait. Thank you all very much for the stay.
