Family getaway
We stayed here in July,check in went smoothly and the receptionist was very helpful.we arrived 2 hours late due to plane been delayed and we arrived just has the restaurant was about to close, they plated myself and family a huge salad which could of fed all 3 of us and also offering more food. Are rooms were spacious and clean. We found a lovely place just down from the hotel in like a shopping/restaurant area called shelby's smash burgers which did the most amazing burger at a reasonable price ,they were that good we went a couple of times during our stay. The pool area was good apart from people putting their towels down and not been seen using sunbeds for ages. I've got to admit that one day,one of the life guards did walk round and move at least 15 to 20 towels, but this didn't happen often. The pool area did become quiet around 2pm till 3.30ish. The que on a morning did get long on certain days as it didn't open till 10am and the sunbeds soon got full.
We did have a good holiday but my kids wish they had more exercusions or trips to offer during our stay. The walk up to the marine was lovely with plenty of places to stop on way for a nice cold drink,the walk took around 20 minutes to get there. Definitely a nice place to visit while in the area.

Great hotel , Great Staff, Great location.
This is an excellent hotel. Built on a hill, situated in a Spanish speaking area of Aguadulce. Reception is on the 4th floor.
You will find all staff friendly, professional and welcoming.
The hotel has 10 floors, some sections are of a Western theme. The rooms are are spacious and cleaned daily, offering built in climate control for all seasons.
As for meals, there is a spacious dining room located on the 3rd floor Food is in a buffet style, with easy access and prepared fresh. There is a variety of choice, from hot, to cold, and of course the deserts.
There is an Outdoor pool and indoor pool. The indoor pool is usually closed during the summer season. I would say it is very child friendly. Activity staff are also on hand .
The hotel is right across from the beach, accessable through a security gate.
There is also easy access to regular public transportation. Buses well take you to the City of Almeria, or the other way to Roquetas de Mar. (In this area you also will find a large shopping centre, "Gran Plaza," and an outdoor themed Mario waterpark).
The buses offer a regular service 7 days a week. Prices a very reasonable, affordable.
Aguadulce is a small Spanish town with shops along the main road.
There are a couple of supermarkets within walking distance, Mercadona at the top of the hill, or a little along the main road, on the right, Consum supermarket. (Prices really good here).
You will see many people walking along the seafront in the evening. The marina is a go to place in the evening, offering a family night life, restaurants, etc.
Might be worth noting, learning a few basic Spanish phrases will help you out.
I have been to this hotel many times over the years, I would recommend staying here.

Front Sea
A very pleasant stay. A thematic room, which excited the kids a lot.
The meals are varied and always with options of grill made at the moment, adding to the various dishes of the day.
A slightly dated hotel, in need of updates.
The pool is reasonable, with a lot of shade. The slides, although not a water park, delight children's day.
Crossing the road and being on the beach, is a very positive point! Although there are some algae, they are not disturbing.
The meals are varied and always with options of grill made at the moment, adding to the various dishes of the day.

Not great.
We stayed at the Playadulce Hotel for the last two weeks of August.
**The good:**
The hotel itself is clean, and the rooms were cleaned to a good standard every day. The entertainment team are really good and offer lots of daytime activities for children. However, a lot of these activities are in Spanish, so English-speaking children may struggle to follow what is going on, as mine often did. The pool area is also nice and well maintained.
**The bad:**
Some of the bar staff are really not welcoming and, to be honest, make you feel like you’re not wanted there. What was particularly noticeable was that their attitude seemed to change when serving other guests. I can’t say for certain, but it sometimes felt like it depended on what language you spoke.
The food here was absolutely terrible. My children basically had to live on bread and pizza for two weeks, while the adults in our group ended up eating mostly salad. I genuinely don’t understand where some of the positive reviews about the food have come from. The only explanation I can think of is that there must have been a secret restaurant that most of us didn’t know about, because the main restaurant was consistently disappointing.
By the third day, getting my children to go to the restaurant had become a massive struggle because they already knew there would be very little for them to eat. The meat cooking station never had food actually cooked when the restaurant opened; they would only just be starting to cook it. The meat in the prepared dishes was often extremely fatty and gristly, and the overall quality of the food was very poor. If I could give the food minus stars, I would.
There also isn’t a huge amount around the hotel to do. There is a harbour about a 30-minute walk away, along with a couple of restaurants and bars nearby, but unfortunately we didn’t feel particularly welcome in some of these places either.
Overall, we got the impression that this is a Spanish resort that is much more accustomed to, and perhaps more comfortable with, Spanish-speaking tourists. As English tourists, we unfortunately didn’t feel particularly welcome during our stay.
There were some positives, particularly the cleanliness, pool area and entertainment team, but unfortunately these were outweighed by the poor food and customer service.
I wouldn’t return to the Playadulce Hotel, and, honestly, by the end of the holiday I was quite happy to come home.

Don’t stay here!
I have just come back from here and I wouldn’t recommend this place at all save your money! I wasn’t expecting a lot going there but I sure thought I’d have a better experience and treatment unfortunately that wasn’t the case and I can over look run down rooms however the Food was awful, raw pasta cold food most of the time, 3 nights straight I ate raw meat via the show cooking station which was a shame as it was the only bit of food I enjoyed there was only so much salad and bread I could eat before I felt sick so unfortunately I was hungry most of my trip. We had came back after being out all day to leak in the ceiling dripping all over the floor I slipped over and hurt my leg and when I reported this to reception they was very rude to me as if I had caused it and I got no apology or asked if I was ok or communication about what had happened after they fixed it. The nearest shop was 20/30 minute walk there was nothing near by at all so be prepared for the walk! Poor customer service and nothing near by and bad food I wouldn’t stay here if it was free I wanted to leave after day 1!
