Great beer garden
We were only in the great beer garden to eat. We were so blown away that we booked a weekend in October with our friends.

Room for improvement
We spent one night at the hotel: Let's start with the positive: The rooms were very clean, and the walk-in shower in particular was great for me as someone with limited mobility. Also, some fly screens were installed, which is not something you can take for granted. The breakfast buffet was very delicious and varied, and above all, there were finally small waste bins at the breakfast table.
Now for the negative part:
We arrived at the hotel at around 12:30; there was no one at the reception, and there was a sign saying that we should report to the restaurant. So we went to the restaurant. The staff there didn't understand what it was about at first and thought we had reserved a table. Then we received an unfriendly answer: check-in is not until 3:00 PM. We said that perhaps our rooms might already be ready. Yes, she is getting the manager.... Once again, we received an unfriendly response. A "warm welcome" looks different! However, our rooms were unfortunately already ready, so we were able to check in after all. My room faced the street and the beer garden; it was under the roof. Unfortunately, there was no screen on the bedroom window, and in the evening, the spider "Thekla" greeted me. So I lowered the shutter and closed both windows. It was unbearably hot, however, and I considered whether I preferred heat or noise and then decided on the noise. A raised floor in the shower could easily become a tripping hazard when you have to go to the bathroom while still sleepy.
At check-out, likewise an unfriendly farewell. No "It was nice having you with us - have a safe trip home." Overall, not a 4-star hotel.

Very disappointing experience with Landhotel Gary.
My family and I booked a room through Booking.com while travelling. We were approximately one hour away from the hotel and booked the room with an expected arrival time of around 9:00 PM.
Shortly after making the reservation, the hotel rejected our booking due to our arrival time. We accepted the rejection and found another place to stay. To our surprise, we were later charged the full amount for the reservation, even though the hotel itself had declined to accommodate us. On top of that, we had also paid for breakfast.
We find it completely unreasonable to charge guests for a stay after rejecting the booking because of the stated arrival time.
We have submitted a formal complaint to both Landhotel Gary and Booking.com and expect the matter to be resolved with a full refund.
Based on this experience, Landhotel Gary comes across as a hotel that seems more interested in taking money from guests than in providing good service. It feels like they will try to charge you whenever possible. We unfortunately cannot recommend Landhotel Gary. Stay away if you do not want to be cheated out of your money.

Best home-style food
Neither in Ansbach nor in Nuremberg is it so good to eat homegrown. Both service, drinks and food are unbeatable at Gary's. We always come back, honestly!!!!
