Exceeded expectations

We stayed at this hotel as our base during a Shearings coach tour of Austria. Having read the reviews I was a little concerned but my concerns were baseless. I don't know what is wrong with some reviewers, or perhaps they have dillusions of grandeur giving expectations beyond reality.
Hotel Weismann is typical family owned and run Austrian establishment. Yes, it is a little tired but is clean and functional. Our double room was at the rear of the hotel on the 1st floor & was large and was comfortable. The lack of a kettle & cups is an improvement opportunity for uk guests. The en suite was small and would benefit from a refurb but everything was clean and functional.
The food was fine, not cordon blue but ok. Soup for the first course everyday was a little boring, maybe they could consider a couple of alternatives. Main course were a choice of 3 meals, our only criticism was the meals could have benefited from a jug of water & glasses on the tables is another improvement opportunity.
The garden was nice and featured various pets and a swimming pool that we did not use. We did not see any possibility to have pool towels but that might have been down to us.
Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Very Poor!

Bad, Bad, Bad!
Travelled with Leger Coach Holidays and was sited in this place, probably the worst 3 Star Hotel we have ever stayed in, anywhere in the world!
Rooms are dated and very basic. Pillows are old and flat, one each on the bed that features old, uncomfortable mattresses with no top sheets, no tea making facilities, no air conditioning, no cooling fans, no security safes.
There is no lock on the inner bathroom door, very small, old bathroom, no soap dish in the shower, sample sized shower jel, for 3 out of the 5 days only, until I complained to the 'manager'. Church peal at 6.00am every morning followed by 6 chimes, no chance of sleeping after that!
Food is a disaster, for anyone with dietary restrictions, there is no choice whatsoever, despite Leger acknowledging our requirement prior to travelling. Fixed dinner menus with very basic 'food' Soup with bread every evening, unsure what it was made of but they gave it a different name each day! Desserts were packeted and if they were not eaten they were returned to the menu the following evening until they were finished. Do not espect a drink with your meal like water of tea/coffee unless you go to the bar and pay for it! Bread cheese ham and jam with cornflakes and/or muesilli, eggs that you need to boil yourself, a toaster is available that is a domestic 4 piece very slow toaster (there were 38 of us each morning for breakfast)! Water melon was available on a couple of mornings also.
Very interesting small town as being charged for tap water. was enough to persuade us, after sitting through the dinner menu, to investigate the other local restaurants. The patisserie bar was the choice for drinks and reception, we were made to feel very welcome and it was a busy. good sized enterprise. The chinese restaurant was superb, the food and the service both.
Interestingly, while both of those establishments were busy, Hotel Weissman did not have any local support while we was staying there!

A lovely quiet family run Hotel

Stayed here with Leger and a tour group. Was a bit worried about the bad reviews concerning the food.
Yes the Hotel is a bit dated but for 3 stars it is very good. It's a family run Hotel, spotlessly clean, friendly staff and really good food. There was plenty to eat both at breakfast and evening. Nothing was too much trouble.
DO NOT believe any bad reviews about the lack of food.
The evening meals were hot, plentiful and very tasty.

Hotel Weismann

I travelled to Austria with Shearings and the told us that we had to put our keys in if we went out. We did as asked and went to the pub which was ten minutes away. We got back to the hotel at 10.05 pm and the manger had locked us out. We knocked for forty minutes and with no answer went to the police station over the road. We couldn’t find a police officer and thought we’d have to sit out all night . Eventually they let us in at 11.pm. We are two ladies on our own with disabilities and we were really worried as it was very dark with little lighting. The next day we were made fun of by the drivers and a few passengers laughed at us . We were made feel like we were in the wrong. I emailed Shearings three times and I never got a response. They have no concern for their customers and how are disabled people expected to travel with this company where there is little respect or support. I know that the hotel we’re in the wrong but Shearings and their drivers are our tour operators and first contact.

Disappointed

I went with my Husband on a coach holiday with Shearings the hotel was very basic room was a bit dated no Kettle or mini fridge asked at reception for a safety deposit box and all I got was a small box that didn’t fit much in the evening meal was soup then you got a choice of 3 different meals one of them was for a vegetarian not very nice at all and if you didn’t get your dessert before your meal came there was hardly anything left now the breakfast wow what a experience a toaster what holded 4 slices can you imagine 45 of us trying to have toast and if you wanted a boiled egg it holded 8 everyone was having to set there phones and go back for them there wasn’t much more to choose as it was Continental we definitely won’t be returning to this hotel the only good thing Staff was friendly.
