Flights to Taba
Right on the border between Egypt and Israel, the town of Taba has become a popular destination for tourists looking to escape the crowds of Sharm El Sheikh. Just to the south of the town you'll find, a purpose-built resort and part of Egypt's Red Sea Riveiera. Its location on the Gulf of Aqaba is certainly scenic: across the water you can see Jordan, Israel and Saudi Arabia. Excellent diving, beautiful golf courses and some seriously luxurious hotels
Airports in Taba
Taba International Airport (TCP) serves Taba. Currently no passenger airlines are offering flights to Taba. The nearest alternative airports are Eliat Airport (ETH) and Ovda Airport (VDA), both just outside the city of Eliat in Israel. Another alternative is Sharm El Sheikh Airport (SSH)
Airlines that fly to Taba
To Ovda Airport: Monarch Airlines from London-Luton.
To Eliat Airport: Arkair and Israir Airlines fly from a number of domestic destinations in Israel, with no direct flights from the UK.
To Sharm El Sheikh: British Airways fly from London-Gatwick. easyJet fly from a number of airports including London-Gatwick, London-Luton, London-Stansted and Manchester. Monarch Airlines fly from Birmingham, Manchester, London-Gatwick and London-Luton. Thomas Cook fly from Glasgow, Newcastle, Birmingham, Manchester, London-Stansted, London-Gatwick, Cardiff, Bristol and East Midlands. Tui fly from Bristol, Birmingham, Cardiff, Doncaster/Sheffield, East Midlands, Glasgow, London-Gatwick, London-Luton, London-Stansted, Manchester, Newcastle, Belfast, Bournemouth, Edinburgh and Exeter.
Getting into Taba
There's no public transport from any of the airports to Taba. Private shuttle buses and taxis are the best option: some hotels offer transfers to and from the airport. If you're travelling to one of the Israeli airports (Eliat or Ovda) you will need to get out of the bus to cross the Egyptian border. If you're visiting for 30 days or less you can get your visa at the border crossing. It's also possible to arrange your visa before you fly, through your local consulate. Car hire at Sharm El Sheikh is another option: Taba is about two and a half hours away from Sharm El Sheikh Airport by car.

When to visit Taba
Taba has a mild year-round climate. November to March are the coolest months, but the average temperature never dips below 17°C (the average for January). May to September is extremly hot, with average temperatures soaring above 30°C. The hottest months are July and August, when the temperature is 35°C but it can easily get hotter than 40°C. April is generally considered the best month to visit, with ten hours of sunshine each day and temperatures of a pleasant 28°C on average.
