When to fly to Fortaleza

If you’re planning on doing a lot of sightseeing, sunbathing, or water-sporting it’s probably best to avoid Fortaleza during the wet season, which lasts from January to June. It can get quite humid in the city, thunderstorms are frequent, and torrential rain can quickly chase you from the beach and back to your hotel. Then again, it might be worth braving the rain for Carnival, which usually takes place in February or March. The party isn’t as big as Rio’s, but it’s still a sight well worth seeing.
