Flights to Donetsk

Donetsk is an industrial powerhouse of a city, surrounded by coal mines and slagheaps. The city was founded by a Welshman, and his legacy can be seen in the many British sounding hotel and restaurant names. Unfortunately the British style architecture was mostly lost during WWII, when the city was reduced to rubble. Donetsk was rebuilt in a Soviet style, but has a softer side too with rose gardens, parks, and pedestrianised streets.

Airports in Donetsk

Unfortunately the city’s main airport, Donetsk Sergey Prokofiev International Airport (DOK), was destroyed during the War in Donbass, an ongoing conflict in which the airport plays a key role. At the moment all flights to the airport are understandably suspended, however if you want to reach the region there are alternative options.

The closest airports you can fly to are Dnipropetrovsk International Airport (DNK) and Zaporizhia International Airport (OZH). Onward transportation is also available from Kiev, which you can reach by flying into either Borypil International Airport (KBP) or Kyiv Zhulhany International Airport (IEV).

Airlines that fly to Donetsk

All flights to Donetsk are currently suspended.
