Similarly to the Church of Saint Donat, the city's cathedral was also built on the old Roman Forum, and after its neighbour is Zadar’s most impressive building. The tower that looms over the surrounding area is the cathedral’s most notable feature, which you're able to climb to the top of if you desire. The inside of the church is wonderfully decorated and has some lovely features to look out for, including a sarcophagus containing the remains of Saint Anastasia.

use this as your North Star in the city centre. dates back to the 4th century and still massively important to the church today.

Zadar itself is one of the most underrated cities in the country and sunset from the top of the Bell Tower of St. Anastasia Cathedral is nothing short of magical. The golden light bouncing off the architectural angles of downtown and glistening on the surface of the sea in the distance will leave you captivated and rejuvenated.
