Great place to visit with the family or solo. Suggest coming in cooler weather because it gets hot! Many things and decks to see you can spend hours exploring.

Full of history. The story of what it was like to live aboard the ship during WW 2 was interesting.

On the Cape Fear River in Historic Downtown Wilmington, the USS NC Battleship is living history! Park in any of the convenient pay parking lots downtown for the day and catch a river taxi over to the ship! Or drive over the bridge and park there. The exhibits are truly amazing! See what life was like for the men who fought from her decks in WWII!

The USS North Carolina is a memorial to the 10,000 North Carolinians who died during WWII. It's a really interesting museum that lives on a battleship. It sits on the river in downtown Wilmington.

Nice thing for the family to do on a rainy day, when you can't go to the beach.

Excellent access to many different decks and spaces of this historic vessel including the engine room and into the inner workings of the big guns. Very cool!

Take the ferry across the river to visit the battleship. An interesting view of downtown and a history lesson all in one.

We went to see the Battleship North Carolina and it was a very hot day. Some places on the ship were cooler than others so I recommend you have some water for you and the kids on hand if you are here in 100 degree weather. It is definitely a must visit to get a glimpse of where our military men work when they are out at sea.

The most decorated battleship of WWII is on display for young generations to learn that FREEDOM had to be fought for. (something they do not teach in schools anymore ) Visit this storied battleship and teach your kids about it. Sign up for a backstage tour of the ship ( in the spring ) and see parts of the ship that are closed to the public. Go from the keel all the way up to the tallest part of the ship and explore every part of it. This is by far the best attraction in North Carolina.

Make a trip up to Wilmington if you have time. A tour of this WWII ship is interesting for children 7-15 years old. The waterfront in historic Wilmington across the ICW is full of shops and some nice restaurants.

This is one of the most decorated ships in the US Navy during WWII. It was just an honor to walk in the steps of all those brave sailors who defeated the vaunted Japanese Imperial Navy.

Visit the USS North Carolina, permanently docked across the river from downtown Wilmington. This is a must for anyone interested in World War 11.

One of my all-time favorite battleships. Visitors can see a lot things up-close and view the majority of the ship at their own pace. Expect a lot of climbing! The gift shop was nice too. Everything is in good shape.

This is the real deal, especially for kids to learn about battleships. There are real alligators in the water too, so be careful not to fall in! And there is a wonderful sound and light show there. It's easy to find, well-marked, and across the water from some really fine restaurants on Water St. and Front St.
