creation in 1923. The longest of Washington D.C.’s reflecting pools often mirrors the image of the Washington Monument. It has hosted cultural revolutions like Martin Luther King’s “I Had A Dream” speech, and countless displays of activism such as the National Go Topless Day protest; what you might call a gender equality rally of sorts.

As stunning as it is in the movies and pictures, I just wish the day was a lil less overcast. I advise to walk the pool and view from both sides.

Loved the experience which was reminiscent of being in Forest Gump. A lot of history went down around this pool including MLK's speech in 1963, Obama's 2009 inauguration and the March on Washington.

My absolute favorite spot in D.C. Check out the Lincoln memorial and then relax on the steps overlooking the pool.

Can't help but think of Jenny running to forest. But this place is so pretty. Looking down from Lincoln memorial is a great picture opportunity.

Very pretty and easy to photograph as it is your view from the Lincoln Memorial. Nice shaded walkways on either side of it. Tour buses start unloading around 8:45am so early morning is you best bet for a more serene visit. Fun people watching site otherwise as it anchors one end of the 2 mile Mall.

You can't come to D.C. without visiting the National Mall and the reflecting pool. Visit both day and night. Also, a great place for an early morning run.

After seeing the Lincoln Memorial, we went down to check out the reflection pool. The water was algea-filled but it was still peaceful. Much less people than the memorial. I liked it.

So much history in one pool. Definitely the MLK speech is the one that stands out the most. Beautiful place!

Way dirtier than expected, but a nice stroll between the Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial. Been in the winter and summer and the summer brings a nasty smell but overall, it was nice a nice experience

The national mall is one of the greatest places to visit in DC! When the weather is nice it is definitely worth a few hours of exploration!

The reflecting pool is in between the Lincoln Memorial and the Obelisk. You can see a perfect reflection of the Obelisk when you are at the top of the stairs at the Lincoln Memorial.

Spent an early evening on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial watching the tourists and the sunset. In that wonderfully temperate climate that DC gets to enjoy this was a wonderfully relaxing moment that felt just right. I can't say you will get the same experience as us, but I really hope that you get the chance to just sit and be content outside the hall of the great emancipator.

Unfortunately, I visited in March and the Reflecting Pool was drained but in the summer time it is much more beautiful.
