Cute and local bookstore also has a small bar and a cafe in the back areas, but very busy. More of a social brunch place than a sit down and read with coffee place.

Kramer's is part independent bookstore, part restaurant, and part bar. It is located just off Dupont Circle and stays open until 3am on Fridays and Saturdays. If you are craving a late night slice of pie and a good book, this is the place to visit.

What's better than losing and finding yourself in a cozy bookstore on a rainy gloomy day.

I had a great experience here and I love the concept of having a bar (with happy hour), a cafe and a actual restaurant connected to the bookstore. You can read your books at the bar as well.

I was surprised by how many people visiting this place. It can be a little overwhelming but still the vibe is great.

My family had already eaten and the staff accommodated me, but I found the sausa hgg e over seasoned, the bacon more fat than meat and the eggs were cooked in way too much oil-they slide around on my plate. The children's plates were large.

I love coming here to browse the incredible book selection! It's right in the heart of DuPont and is a favorite of many. They have book events often where sub tours come to speak and sign books. The bar is really cool too. They have outdoor seating in the back!

One of my favorite places in town. Great place for craft cocktails and love their sharesies apps. Then I will browse books, have pseudo-intellectual conversation and spend to much on books. Open late but bar gets crowded on weekends.

Fun bookstore that also has a cafe. Find a book you want to buy and then grab a coffee. Kramer's also does a very good weekend brunch.

I loved this place. Books, a bar, a cafe: it's like the best of all my favorite worlds.

I will always love Kramerbooks (some of my friends call it "Kramer's," but I don't know if it's just them or a legit thing) because of its devotion to quality literature and its perfect bar, which is dimly lit no matter what time of day it is, so that you don't feel terrible ordering a drink before 1 pm. Good play, Kramerbooks! The food and the drinks are well made and I've never had a surly waiter or waitress. A great spot to meet up with friends for brunch!

Kramerbooks and Afterwards Cafe is a bookstore located in Dupont Cirlce, with a restaurant and bar in the back. This is one of my favorites in DC because of their fantastic happy hour. This a great place to come and peruse the bookstore and then settle in the bar in the back a read. They actually have a happy hour on Friday evenings, which is uncommon, so as you wait to meet up with friends or need to decompress after a long week, come to Kramers. This is a really relaxed setting and the amazing happy hour makes it even better. Come and enjoy a new book with a six dollar glass of wine!

"Not quite what I was looking for"

I wanted to enjoy Kramerbooks, I really did. I certainly can appreciate the bookstore-cum-cafe concept, but I don't like how it was executed here. While the bookstore is fun to browse, I've found the cafe to be cramped and impersonal, a situation which could probably be remedied by the purchase of some new furniture. Next time I'm in town, I'll take a peek and give Kramerbooks another chance to wow me.

Best bookstore ever: an independent bookstore that's also a bar and cafe, and is open 24 hours on weekends. Where was this when I was 22? I always make a point to visit when I'm in DC. I like to browse the books and get a pint or a dessert. Best bookstore ever.

Fantastic collection of contemporary and up and coming artists. A large, fun group of children's books, travel guides, and area art guides. A dozen or so craft beers from local breweries and simply the best triple chocolate cake ever made! Good people watching right off of DuPont Circle and very helpful wait staff. Two beers and the chocolate desert were less than $20 and a bargain.

Browines and coffee at 2am? Yes. If there are two things in life I love, they are reading and eating. This place offers both. This is where I really felt the "vibe" of D.C. People in three piece suits eating dessert in the late night while others just chilled on the porch with their books. Awesome atmosphere.

Have you ever wanted to combine your love of books with your love of beer? Kramerbooks makes casual dining and loving literacy easy. Located in a hip neighborhood, it's a great spot to rest after a long day of exploring. Grab a pint, a pasta dish and a book, and your evening is set.
