Happy hour at Jaleo is affordable and delicious. The tapas are great, and the sangría is delicioso. Get there early to beat the crowds--it's in the heart of Chinatown, a busy/tourist area.

One of José Andres's many restaurants in Downtown/Penn's Quarter neighborhood of DC. Jaleo specializes in tapas. Like many of his places the food is good but not amazing, and is a bit over priced. For tapas I actually prefer nearby La Tasca, or Barcelona over on 14th St. NW.

Jaleo, a tapas restaurant owned by famed chef José Andrés, is close to the Mall and a perfect place to stop before or after visiting the Smithsonian museums. The food is delicious and the decor is playful (love the Foosball table turned dining table).

Chef José Andrés' original Jaleo location has still got it. The creative dishes combined with masterful presentations and the bold interior colors of the restaurant make for a wonderful night out. You can't go wrong with the liquid olives, jamon imbérico or the dates.

I loved the small plates (tapas) here. They are very knowledgeable about food allergies and preferences. I was able to order gluten free from here easily. The food was delicious!

Jose Andres' Jaleo serves up tasty Spanish tapas and sangria. Casual chic at standard DC prices. Solid service that satisfies a wife range of parties, from small to large, young to old, business to trendsetters and families.

Jaleo is a Spainish restaurant under the direction of famed chef José Andrés, Jaleo offers an impressive assortment of tapas, the traditional small dishes of Spain, as well as paellas, sangrias and a fine selection of Spanish wines.

The ambiance of the restaurant is festive and casual. Collages of photos of casually dressed people decorate the walls and even the bathroom floor. Some of the tables are glass supported by a foosball game. The servers seem particularly cheerful. It all feels like a lively party.

We started with a few tapas which were excellent, then went for a paella which could easily have served four people. The taste was very traditional Catalan style.

This is a great place to grab a bite to eat before a show, and it doesn't have to be expensive if you plan your choices well.

You can't go wrong with a Jose Andres restaurant, I think. Jaleo is expensive but the tapas are delicious!

The legendary chef Jose Andres has a reputation, for good reason: at Jaleo, prepare yourself for a long evening of delicious tapas that are simultaneously traditional and experimental. The atmosphere was a little loud and a little crowded for my taste, but it was pretty typical for new, hip DC joints. Still, give stars.

This is a Spanish Tapas style cuisine. The food is different from what I am used too but was good. Has a nice atmosphere.

They make guacamole tableside! It was a wonderful experience. I didn't expect the pork dish to be a huge hunk of meat on the bone. That said, it was totally delicious and I couldn't get enough of it.
