With its impressive monuments and museums, imposing government buildings, stately mansions, and world-class parks, Washington, D.C., is easily recognizable as the United States' capital. ranking it among the top travel destinations in the world. Stroll around the impressive Smithsonian Museum complex (including the Museum of Natural History, the National Museum of the American Indian, and Air and Space Museum) and pay a visit to monuments in honor of America's forefathers (like the Lincoln Memorial, Washington Memorial, and Kennedy Memorial.) To witness a somber unpolitical monument to the war dead of a very politicized war, pause for reflection and admire the architecture of the Vietnam Memorial. A long time foodie black hole, DC'c food scene has picked up in recent years. Ethnic fare is the big draw, with outstanding Ethiopian, Salvadorian, Vietnamese, and Korean Korean cuisine, but much of it is situated in the suburbs. The District of Columbia is also an important site for Black history and culture, mostly around the Shaw District.

humidity. Combine that with swarms of tourists pouring out of buses during the summertime high season, and you’ve got all the makings for a pretty stressful visit. Spring is a much better bet, when temperatures are mild, averaging 50-65F (10-18C), and the cherry blossoms are in bloom. Fall is crisp and the colorful leaves provide a beautiful backdrop for a sightseeing tour. Winter can see temperatures approaching freezing and it often snows, but it has its perks, like ice skating at the National Gallery of Art or seeing the National Christmas Tree on the White House lawn.

Washington D.C is clean and sophisticated. Everyone dresses to impress and the restaurants for the most part do the same. Cosmopolitan, touristy and historical. What else do you expect from the capital city?

New York City

The nation's capital. Most people think you come here to see the tourist attractions like the White House, Monument, and all the historical museums. But there's so much more to do here. It's such a fun town to go out in and getting to try hole in the wall restaurants. Definitely fun if you want to see some of the nation's history with some modern twists

DC is also a wildlife city, beyond its wild policy against the rest of the world.

One of the best cities to explore in the US. I love that most of the museums here are free. And the monuments and parks are beautiful.

Explore The Nations Capitol history, The Mall and Free Museums to learn about our Nation's History. Enjoy the diversity of culture, language, entertainment and food. Maybe guests are in town for a visit to the White House of during The Cherry Blossom Festival. There is always something to do for each traveler to the "DMV" area.
