Interesting fact that this building is actually the 8th tallest building in the EU. This is the home of science and cultural history in Poland and used to be named after Stalin. Built in the 1960's it hosts many cultural and arts event and learning classes pertaining to these subjects. It is a nice place to spend the day exploring.

A Warsaw must-see. Similar to those in the former Soviet Union (which Poland did not belong too), but surrounded by a sprawling, modern City. Inside, all marble and glam.

There's a fantastic cafe bar inside (right wing if you are facing the palace)--not to be missed. Great drinks. Trendy atmosphere. Great place up hang out.

The most iconic building in Warsaw and the tallest building in Poland, the Palace of Science and Culture was a gift to the city from USSR for its soviet - communist relations and is the place to start when it comes to re-visiting Warsaw's soviet past. Today, the 'Palace' houses a collection of public institutions such as museums, a multiplex cinema, libraries, universities and various departments from the Polish Academy of Sciences!
It certainly has become livelier than during its Soviet past. Don't miss the panoramic view of the city from the 30th floor terrace!

The Palace of Culture and Science is the iconic building of Warsaw. Built by the Russians during the Communist Era, it served as a government building and the place to experience the height of Communist culture. It still serves as a home for culture as it houses a movie theatre, four stage theatres, two museums, offices, shops, and a university.

Didn't actually go inside but it's worth just even seeing the outside. Very majestic. Was a gift from Stalin.

Warsaw’s most recognizable building, the Palace of Culture and Science, also known as Stalin’s Birthday Cake, rises above in the center of the city. This building gives the Polish people mixed feelings, as it was built under the command of the man who helped Hitler plunder Poland’s countryside and murder the Polish people during the Soviet-Nazi German relations. Nowadays, it’s used as a university, theater, museum and concert hall.

The Palace of Culture is the big landmark in the center of Warsaw, near the main train stations and surrounded by parks. There's a museum and a cinema.

Iconic building, but nothing special at all. You can take an elevator ride and see Warsaw landscape from high floor.

One of the nicest cities in Europe. The town was completely destroyed during WWII and rebuilt, large streets, very nice historical old town, many restaurants of all kind of ethnic food, the people are very friendly, hotels are clean and welcoming, many things to visit ,Lazienki park is amazingly big and in summer time crowded, I have been many times in Warsaw and can recommend this town to tourists.

Actually, the full name is Palace of Culture and Science, but the original name was Palace of Culture and Science of Josif Stalin. Who was the originator of the project. It was a gift from the Soviet nation to the Polish nation. It is yet the highest building in Poland. If you want to see a panorama of Warsaw, take a trip to the 30th floor.
