was pain-free, our room was clean, and the food that we had with our meal plan was great. As you would expect, the staff at the hotel was very bubbly and friendly from the moment we pulled in. Everyone that worked there went above and beyond to make our stay as magical as possible. The awesome thing about staying at a Disney resort is all of the extra experience you get, compared to staying at a regular hotel, especially if you have kids. At Pop Century, they include shuttles that you are able to get on to that drive you to and from all of the Disney parks, which saves you time trying to find parking. The only recommendation/scrutiny that I have with this resort, regards the reservation process. We went back and forth a lot with the reservations department, and they were not as friendly as the Disney employees that we met in person. Other than that, would definitely recommend if you have children and are looking to extend your magical experience after you leave the park at the end of the day.

I was underwhelmed with this resort. I felt like we had to go on an expedition to get anywhere. The beds were uncomfortable and made a creaking sound every time you moved. There was also the sound of running water from the AC system 24/7. I doubt that I would stay at this resort again...

All of the value resorts at Disney are similar in style and decor - very family friendly and built to create lasting memories. Since we had heard so many people raving about it, we decided to try Pop Century for this trip. It was an okay experience, but we much preferred our previous stay at All-Star Movies mostly because of the crowd level. (Our 3 year old son preferred the Woody and Buzz statues at ASM to the decor at Pop too.)

Check in: We arrived around 9:30pm and waited for about 30 minutes in the Online Check-In line to get our room keys. There was only 1 person working this line, and she was very chatty with the people in front of us.

The Luggage Service: We love the Magical Express service from the airport, but there seemed to be a glitch this time. They say your luggage will be delivered to your room within three hours of your check-in time, but for us we waited four hours, and our suitcase was only delivered at 1:30am AFTER I called them to find out where it was. I don't think there was an issue at the airport since we were on a direct flight. I think they held our suitcase and either forgot to deliver it or didn't want to disturb us at midnight. But still, I shouldn't have had to call to enquire.

The Room: The room was great -- exactly what you expect from a value resort. On the small side, but it was clean and comfortable. We had requested a room in the 50's, but they upgraded us for free (I didn't ask) to a preferred room in the 60's. The only difference between standard and preferred is the walking distance to the main building. The walls were quite thin -- we could hear everything going on next door and above us. Made for a challenging naptime when the room above us was being cleaned.

The Food Court: This was our biggest disappointment with the resort. Because there were SO many people (even for one of the lowest crowd-level weeks of the year!) the food court was always packed, and it took a long time to get our food, check out, and find an empty table. The drink bays were chaotic and the floors were always sticky with spilled soda. The food itself was decent, but our choices were quite limited because it seems they like to put bacon on just about every dish. On two mornings, they did agree to make a vegetarian omelet for us, but grumbled about it.

The Pools: We didn't use the pools ourselves, but it looked like the kids who did were having a great time.

The Gift Shop: Very well stocked with great merch selection. There were a couple of people working the registers that were way too slow and caused long lineups.

The Bus Stop: Disney is amazing with transporting people, and there were always busses running through to the parks. Our longest wait for a bus was about 12 minutes. We found that our bus was always packed with people, while at the All-Star Movies, it was easy to find a seat and never had to stand up.

We didn't expect a quiet relaxing resort in Pop Century, but it was a bit too chaotic for us. We won't be staying there again.

The Pop Century is my favourite of the Disney value resorts. The shadow boxes of vintage novelties and the retro décor definitely give it a level of class that sets it apart from the others. They seemed to tone down the usual sugary-neon pop of the All-Star resorts, although they do stick with the large displays outdoors. But this is Disney, the happiest place on earth - vibrant colours and larger-than-life themes are all part of the experience. The kids are visibly thrilled when they see the giant Rubix cubes and roller skates outside. All other ages can be seen pointing excitedly at the posters and memorabilia, enjoying a cheery trip down memory lane.

Great "theme"-ing of thr grounds. Rooms adequate size for a family with 2 adults and 2 small kids. (But who spends much time in the room when you're at WDW, anyway?) Good value when WDW transportation to the various parks and extra early/late hours in the parks for resort guests are factored in.

Disney usually does it right, that's why they are the official leaders in creating magic moments. Pop Century Resort is like all of Disney's lower budget hotels. It's located on Disney's ridiculously large plot of land, there is a free bus service to and from the parks, saving $15 on parking daily, the rooms are decent, and the basics of what you may need are provided while on vacation.

There are no frills and it's by no means luxury, but Disney's no extra's is still pretty cool. Giant statues and figurings are set around the property, like 40ft Rubik's cubes, a titanic Mr. and Mrs. Potato head, and a Mickey phone that's the size of small condominium.

Like everything with the Walt Disney World Resort, Pop Century is family friendly and has great customer service.

The only reason I can justify staying here is if your kids are addicted to neon plastic and sugar, and you are on a budget with an attention deficit, so need to be as close to the Disney theme parks as you can while paying the least amount possible. The rooms are tiny and minimalist, reminding me of campground resorts. There are no suites or upgrades. There is also no wifi. So, as an adult, your only solace from ear-deafening pop beats, screaming kids and Rubix Cubes the size of bulldozers is the Petals pool bar. And guess what, it's painted in neon flowers and sits in a major pathway between the lobby and pool. Someone please just put me out of my misery now! Seriously, this is not a value in any sense of the word. Look just outside the borders of the Magic Kingdom and you'll find much more for less...

I'm going to group my review of Disney's value resorts together. I categorize them exactly the same.
If you want tons of theming at minimal price with excellent value then I would suggest Disney's Pop Century or Disney's All Stars Resorts.
The oversized whimsical tributes to pop culture, movies, sports or music makes kids eyes light up. Their pools are plentiful and fun, the food courts can be beat anywhere else, gift shops serve your souvenir needs and there are game rooms. The main pools have pool bars too.
If I do not stay at these resorts, my only reasons are 1) location: I prefer something a little closer to the parks. These resorts are some of the farthest out. 2) If I'm with adults I prefer less noise. These resorts tend to have thinner walls and a little less square footage. 3) If I have more money to spend I'll stay at something that suits # 1 and #2 as previously mentioned.
But, I think these truly are the best value on property and can't be beat in the Orlando area for the money.
