Stayed here for a conference and brought my son. Like most Disney Resorts, it offered a lot of amenities and fun options for my son. Rooms were so-so and of course everything was overprices, but all in all a good experience.

"For seventy dollars more, we can upgrade your stay from a Value Resort to one of our Moderate Resorts." I'm a sucker for the perception of a deal and it was off to the Coronado Springs we went!

The Springs has everything a person could want from a vaguely "Spanish" style resort complex and more! Pools? They got that. Pool with a ziggurat themed water slide? You better believe it. Tired of pools and want a giant lake (or, "lago")? You know where this is heading. As a cherry on the Moderate Sunday, the Springs boasts a lakeside alcohol facility that is STEPS from the registration desk and that right there is the Disney magic you've heard so much about.

Some reviews have complained that the footprint of Disney's Coronado Springs Resort is daunting and that blocks of the rooms exist "miles" from the front desk. Setting aside the fact that Disney World is made of money black holes and walking paths, I offer a pro tip: the cheap seats are usually the farthest from the stage

I find this resort to be the least eventful in terms of theming of all of the moderate resorts. It's most often used for convensions and it feels as such.
The food court here is decent. As for location, it's close to Animal Kingdom and Blizzard Beach.
5/25/2014---updating my comments
For years I said, without having stayed at this resort, that it was my least favorite Disney resort since the theming was lacking and it felt convention-y. That comment was made based off a visit shortly after the resort had opened.
This year, 2014, when making my Disney resort reservation, I had a gut feeling to finally stay here so it was booked. This may be one of my favorite resorts now. Lately I haven't been able to justify the money for a deluxe. While the value resorts are clean, well-themed and fun, I don't like the thin walls and lack of comfort in the beds. Well, Coronado Springs has quiet, comfort, beautiful and lush grounds, as well as a deep woodsy feeling. The frogs, armadillos, huge snails, etc were fun to watch in the evenings.
Water pressure in the shower was just OK.
My downsides of this resort: 1) I'm not a fan of their food area. It was a bit messy and chaotic (I do enjoy the food courts at Pop, All Stars and Art of Animation to draw the comparison). 2) The bathtub really needed to be replaced. The finish on it was so bad that I don't see how they can ever clean it.

The Chicagoland Area

Coronado Springs Resort is based on the Southwest. The resort part of it is well deserving. This is the perfect place to set aside a few hours to be pampered Disney style. $$$$

I am not sure why the reviews of Disney’s Coronado always make it seem more like the frog than the handsome prince. I had been briefed for a bland experience, but I found Coronado Springs to be quite charming. The fact that it is spread out did not seem like a downside to me. Strolling around the Southwestern architecture and sparkling lakes was actually a nice escape, even on a drizzly Florida afternoon. Think Epcot’s Mexico, but much bigger. The poolside snacks were zesty and memorable, and the pool itself features a 50-foot Mayan pyramid and a waterslide. As the rain let down a little bit, the lifeguards did not harshly evacuate the kids from the water like you usually see at big pools. Instead, they seamlessly diverted their attention with a hula-hoop contest and dance party until it cleared. That kind of hospitality reminds me why it’s called hospitality in the first place.

Coronado Springs has as great pool area with the playground, paths for those who'd walk around the lake, is very peaceful and fun. Buses run frequently to take you to the parks and Downtown Disney. The rooms had been recently remodeled, much more modern, new televisions, very neat pocket doors, and nice bedding and carpets. This hotel is a great value for the "moderate" category of Disney's resorts.

Been here twice, once with husband on business and nice mid price hotel. Went back a few years ago, business for husband and my daughter and I stayed a few extra days. We had issues with what they called water view, but we were given a refund and no issue. Nice size room, nothing special. I didn't mind the walk to the food court and we liked the choice for breakfast

This is the best value moderate Disney Resort Hotel. It has a great pool and the rooms are spacious enough for me. The theme isn't as in your face as other Disney Resorts, which I like. It is spread over quite a large area, so not great for guests with walking difficulties. As it's more of a conference hotel I find that the free buses to the parks tend to be quieter than other resorts which it a big bonus.

Imagine going to what you thought would be a fantastic resort, only to have the manager greet you and say you'd likely be happier elsewhere. That's what happened to me here. Essentially, I was told that the Disney Beach Resort would be a better option for me because the Coronado Springs was too spread out, the dining was too centralized and thus too far of a walk and that, frankly, the Coronado Springs was more geared for conference guests than for vacationers. All of this turned out to be true. The rooms are pleasant but basic, the property layout is indeed too spread out for comfort, and the manic typing of work-play conference guests gave this place the feel of a tropical PowerPoint Presentation. On the plus side, the Mayan pyramid swimming pool complex kicks some serious gator tail. And, if I was on a work trip, this would be a pretty pleasant lake-front place to crunch data or prepare my upcoming talk on the evils of shark fin fisheries. But I wasn't here on business. I was here to let loose. Only, this reminded me of work. So, ugh... not my favorite Disney resort.

Hated how the quick service dining was set up at this resort. There were fewere choices than all the other resorts Disney resorts I have stayed at, both Value and Moderate. You even had to tip for quick service waitresses here. They were also closed between 11 and 11:30 to change over from breakfast to lunch and 2-4:30 to change over from lunch to dinner. They served the same menu for lunch and dinner. Don't know why they needed to be closed. The service was very slow, they never had more than 2 cashiers to check you out and you waited for 10-15 minutes to pay. I would never stay at this resort again. Would go back to Carribbean Beach or Riverside.

This moderate resort is wonderful. One of our favorite areas is the market place - great Mexican food and a nice bar area. In fact, we'd end our day of park exploring with an ice-cold margarita.
