Very large hotel area, luxury rooms and swimming areas. Dolphin Quest to swim with Dophins, food stops and shopping everywhere, but id bring your own because things can get pricey. There are no microwaves in the rooms so if you bring food make sure you're fine without heating it up. There are small fridges in the rooms. Most rooms have a plays stationed, and they give you a movie/game card or 2 for free.

A very, very large hotel. You have a choice of a boat or a train to get from one place to another within it. But the best is to hike it. Walk past a 7 foot Buddha, fantastical sculptures scattered throughout the pools, down outdoor hallways filled with old and ancient art (maybe replicas - I've never figured it out). I'd never want to stay here as the population might rival NYC, but it's a great hike. We walked down on the Fisherman's Trail from the Black Sand Beach. Or you can drive to Waikoloa. You won't miss the Hilton - the parking lot entrance is framed by bucking horse mermaids...I think.

Also home to Kamuela Provision Company (KPC) - right up there with Canoehouse and Brown's.

One of the best hotels in the world. Our son was married here in November. It was a spectacular setting for a wedding. However we recommend staying in our condo with all the amenities of a home and then going to experience the Hilton for all its amenities, beautiful grounds, bars, restaurants, spa and amenities, such as paddle-boarding. They have a delightful free boat or train trip around the grounds to the bars, shops and restaurants.

This pretty much Disney Land for the island. There is a boat and tram to get you from one side to another. There are dolphins you can pay to swim with or watch from the Lagoon Grill. 3 pools and a man made lagoon. I can't recommend any of the theme restaurants though because overpriced Mexican and Italian food that tastes like it was made from a Hawaiian that has never had real Italian or Mexican food is a total waste.

Always our go to place when visiting the Big Island. Love this hotel. It has 3 separate towers and you can take a museum walk, a water taxi or a monorail to your tower. They even have their own lagoon and dolphin quest at the resort. While we were there a baby dolphin was born and it was such entertainment to pass by each day and see how he was doing. Also, sunsets from the resort were amazing. I highly recommend staying here.

The Hilton has flamingoes? I sure didn't know that lol. The property is big and although I've been here many times before, I ventured around more this time and found new sights.

While the Hilton may be an expensive place to stay, it doesn't cost much to visit ($9 parking fee) and is still one of my favorite places to visit. This hotel has a man made boating system running through-out as well as a tram system (both free to ride). A beautiful man made lagoon with green sea turtles and other sea life. Swimming with the dolphins (fee attached but viewing is free) and lots of cultural artifacts and neat things to see. While eating or drinking is expensive in the hotel, the Queen's Marketplace is near by and offers budget friendly options. The Hilton is one of my favorite places to take visiting friends and family to enjoy all that it has to offer and so many GREAT PHOTO OPPORTUNITY'S!! I suggest going to the Hilton first, then a quick 10 minute drive to the best beach on The Kona Coast, Hapuna Beach. Makes for a great, inexpensive day!!

A "Disneyland" kind of resort hotel complex. Within walking distance of the condo. Something here for everyone, young and old.

Dolphin Quest is a fun place for kids and family. Dining, shops, enjoy a nice walk along the beach watching the waves crashing on the lava rocks. Free boat ride around the hotel property.

Great to take the kids for a day. The day pass (for a party of 4) gives you access to a room as well. Amazing pools and slides for all ages. You can get your parking paid for if (when) you spend $50 there by giving your receipts to the bar by the sandy pool or to the valet guys. Go early and stay late!

The complex has a boat and a train service to get you around. There have brought in all sorts of wildlife like exotic birds and sea turtles which are something to see. If you are not staying at the hotel you can still come in and ride the boat to one of several lovely restaurants on the complex. There are fancy, expensive restaurants or the restaurant near the dolphin tank has meal options at reasonable prices.

A spectacular property. Ride the monorail and canal boats, marvel at the magnificent Asian art collection, enjoy lunch on the edge of the lagoon or dinner at Amari.

Almost TOO big. Takes 30 min to wait for the train or boat to take you to your room. Pretty magical though for that fakey Hawaii experience. Fun to lounge at the neverending, winding pool!

We stayed here for just one night (staycation). We booked it last minute on Orbitz and it was pretty affordable ($200/night) but it didn't include the parking fees or mandatory internet charge (what, mandatory???). It was scenic and fun to walk around but the place was more like Disneyland rather than a relaxing resort. I'd rather pay a bit more to stay at the Fairmont Orchid where they don't have all these hidden fees (and it's just nicer). On the other hand, this is a great place for kids.

We stayed in the time share condos up above the resort madness. Great family trip. We were able to enjoy the offerings of the resort and then get away from the craziness in our beautiful accommodations.

The Hilton is a must see. Ride the boats or monorail, see the dolphins or millions of dollars of artwork. This is a sight to behold. We love to ride the boats after dark and stargaze.
