Waikiki Beach

Weather

Oahu is blessed with some of the best (i.e. driest) weather in Hawaii, and many of the places with the highest chances of finding sun at any time of year are located on the southern coast of the island ... Read more
(Waikiki, Ko Olina, etc.). With that said, there is a rainy season, and you are more likely to see some precipitation between October and March, but it’s rarely anything more than a moderate splash. Crowds are the most intense during the winter when temperatures are ironically at their lowest (travelers generally want to escape worse weather elsewhere) but given that the mercury doesn’t rise that much the rest of the year, considering a low-season vacation could mean saving a few bucks without much of a tradeoff. Like all Hawaiian islands, the north-east side is 'windward' and gets more precipitation, and the south-west side is 'leeward', generally less rainy and warmer.

Don't expect a secluded and intimate beach here, as some of the most popular hotels in Waikiki are right on this beach, BUT with that, you're close to great shopping options and restaurants. The water is ice and the view of the Pacific is amazing.

Waikiki Beach is beautiful. There are shops surrounding the beach before heading to the beach. While enjoying the beautiful Hawaiian sun, you can take surfing lessons (I recommend using them) they are amazing. Everyone from around comes to this beach. It is worth every flight in the world.

Great beach and fun activities that will never end. The one thing I don't like are the crowds. That's just me though.

I love to take a walk along the beach. And I sometimes take pictures of beautiful blue skies or sunrise/sunset.

My favorite beach for walking at night. Very romantic. Also beautiful when viewed from above from the rim of Diamondhead.

Really fun beach, water was beautiful blue and the sand is soft. Great spot to surf, paddle board, or just swim and relax :)

Tourist central - literally. This is the most famous beach of Hawaii - it's where all the hotels are located. The great thing about this being a tourist beach is that it is usually well maintained and monitored for security. The water tends to be pretty chill on this side of the island too, so you can swim easily.

Great beach, but extremely crowded. You have to be there by 8 am to get a spot. Plenty of other beaches that are just as beautiful and not crowded.
