The 23 air-conditioned guestrooms at Foscari Palace include minibars and safes. Guests can channel-surf the satellite television. Bathrooms offer phones and hair dryers.
Right next door to the Ca'Sagredo, Foscari Palace is smaller and less lavish, though still elegant. There is also a bar downstairs with a patio outside (no restaurant), but less frilly. Rooms are very well-kept and comfortable.
Though directly across from the impressive Ca’Sagredo, this hotel has a distinctly different look and feel from Sagredo’s museum-y opulence and openness to the public. The staff are very polite, but not entirely friendly, which seems to reflect the whole hotel’s cool, quiet elegance. Whereas Sagredo feels like a place to celebrate and be treated like royalty, Foscari feels like a place to be left alone. The lobby area features a lot of comfy-looking couches arranged for multiple private moments, and the breakfast area feels tucked away and hushed. My favorite part is the green glass elevator – and the free ride to a Murano glass factory. I also love the breakfast area, a warm, open room where the windows are covered in white ruffled fabric.
This four-star hotel is a really nice, really fancy option that I really appreciated but isn’t quite my style. Its best asset is the amazing location, right on the main canal and easily accessible by water or by foot, but located on its own quiet piazza. No matter what direction you head, you’ll find life, intrigue, and historical monuments. But if you stay, you can hang out in the lobby, with plush red chairs and comfy couches, all with lots of light streaming in from canal-side windows. A real treat is that it had a tiny little deck on the pier so you could sit right on the canal and take in the sunshine and the passing life on the water. The room was really nice, if not remarkable, and my overall thought is that this would be a great place for a traveling executive. The hotel is beautiful – even stylish – but I felt it lacked a certain character. But not everyone wants character. If you want location, luxury, and uncomplicated style, this is your spot.
