Scuba dive with humpback whales, stroll through streets with wild donkeys or get your yo-ho-ho on in the formerly pirate-infested waters of the Turks and Caicos Islands. Most famous for what it offers at or below sea level, diving, snorkeling and sailing have given this previously unknown island chain a foothold in the Caribbean tourism market. The English-speaking islands boast one of the longest coral reefs in the world, as well as many new all-inclusive resorts and high-end hotels.
When winter weather back home becomes too much to handle, many people flee to Turks and the Caicos to bask in low 80 degree temperatures (mid-20s Celsius). More visitors equals higher prices, so expect steep hotel rates from December through April, with prices peaking over Christmas, New Year’s and President’s Day weekend in February. However, the rest of the year is pretty idyllic, too: summers can heat up into the mid-90s Fahrenheit (mid-30s Celsius) and you might get some afternoon showers, but you’ll be well compensated by cheaper hotel rates and airfare. Like the rest of the Caribbean, Turks and the Caicos can get hit by hurricanes, so keep a close eye on the weather from June 1 to November 30.

Ah ..Provos! As they call it with the most beautiful sand and clean bright stars against the night sky. Snuba is good for non-divers. You will not explore much besides the local markets as there's no "target" or Mcdonalds. Rental car is available allowing exploration if time allows with discoveries of private beaches and conch shacks.

– Set on a private island, Parrot Cay is as synonymous with luxury as it is with Turks and Caicos. The world-renowned spa sanctuary is the height of pampering, where your co-residents will likely be regular A-listers such as Donna Karan, Bruce Willis and Sir Paul McCartney. 1,000 acres of lush grounds are the playground of the elite. Whitewashed suites glisten as sheer materials billow in the breeze. Parrot Cay retains favour for its signature laid-back ambiance.

The waters were great but we picked the wrong resort so it could have been better.

the best beaches I've seen thus far, quiet, complete relaxation, great but pricey food...perfect place to go if you don't want to party but want to unwind and chill out

Bring your own mask & snorkle (rent some fins) and explore the ocean. There is always some fish to see close to shore.
