Maybe a little museum and maybe a little shop? So many curiosities inside this pretty store. Glass cases full of timepieces and other sundries. I loved poking around all afternoon.

One of the new breweries popping up around Cardiff. Fun young vibe for a pint or can to take home, and associated with the nearby Beezelbub's Restaurant/Pub.

A fairly new building in Cardiff, this expansive library houses traditional works and new favorites. Free live music on Saturdays and a playable grand piano.

Super bizarre but a must if you're a fan of Doctor Who and Tourchwood. The British are odd. Haha, but it's a memorial to a fictional character form the shows.

Baguette Me

Baguette Me just popped up on my new restaurants feed and I suggested it to my cousin who lives nearby. My two cousins and I went over there on a Sunday evening to grab some banh mi and pastries. ... Read more
There was only one person working that evening it seemed, so the orders were a little slow. She ordered first, a Bulgogi beef banh mi, BBQ pork banh mi, a breakfast pastry, and a pistachio croissant. The guy asked if she wanted everything, meaning the pickled vegetables, cilantro, and jalapeños. She confirmed that she did. The guy went back to make her stuff leaving me and my other cousin waiting to put our orders in. Had we known, we would have ordered everything up front but oh well. He came back with her order, boxed and bagged and even threw in a free chocolate almond croissant for the wait. He ended up taking our orders after she paid. I ordered the BBQ pork banh mi and the pistachio croissant. My other cousin ordered the BBQ pork and a chocolate almond croissant since they ran out of the pistachio ones. We each got an extra chocolate almond croissant for the long wait. I know they just opened so I’ll just give them the benefit of the doubt for the lack of staff on a Sunday evening. I can’t imagine that it’s going to be swarming with customers on a Sunday night, so that’s fine. We made our way back to my cousin’s place around the corner and devoured our sandwiches. The BBQ pork was really good. If anything, that’s what you should order if you’re interested in trying them, unless you can’t eat pork. They have a vegetarian banh mi with eggplant, a chicken banh mi, or you have the option of building your own with a list of ingredients. They do not have what I consider traditional banh mi sandwiches. The only things considered traditional are the baguette itself, which is pretty darn good, and the pickled vegetables plus fresh cilantro. I have to wonder if I can just buy some baguettes, without any filling. The pastries are good too but I definitely recommend heating them up a bit if you can. The chocolate almond croissant was just okay, but I ate it cold. The pistachio was pretty tasty. I’d be willing to check them out again. They are in the same strip mall as Ma Dee Thai in Costa Mesa.

I’d been there before for an event and knew that they offered spam musubi on their menu. I ordered an order to go but was so hungry that I ended up eating it all in one sitting. The spam musubi is made fresh to order so it was hot from the griddle. The rice was warm too. The service was friendly and I’m glad I stopped in for an order. It was good and hit the spot. Next time I’m in the area and I’ve a hankering for spam musubi (let’s be honest, I usually do), I’ll definitely stop in. They also offer unagi spam musubi and an out of this world poke bowl.

A bit outside the city, this is one of Marrakech's pretty natural wonders. A nice stroll/walk to find yourself at these waterfalls, which are sometimes seasonal due to drought.
