Beautiful architecture. I've only seen one play but I'll never forget the place! Definitely check it out.

Montreal

This old theatre got its start in vaudeville and burlesque with the Pantages consortia in 1920 as Canada’s largest and most elegant entertainment venue. From 1930-1986, the Imperial was exclusively devoted to cinema. Restored to its original glory by Cineplex, the theatre re-opened in 1989 with an inaugural presentation of The Phantom of the Opera, which ran for a decade. It is still THE place to see a great selection of Broadway-style musicals.

If you're in Toronto, buy tickets for a performance at the Ed Mirvish Theatre. Located right beside Dundas Square, you can have drinks or food before the show! This theatre is a historical thing of beauty. It has been around for almost 100 years and plays a lot of great Canadian and international shows. The interior will take your breath away. It was recently renamed Ed Mirvish as a tribute to Toronto's favourite homeboy, the owner of the famous Honest Ed's, located at Bathurst and Bloor. He was a really good man and had a really funky bargain store. He did a lot of charity work and was an all-around loveable guy. Toronto families who struggled in the financial department owe him a lot. Every Christmas my mom and I would wait for hours in line to pick up a free turkey. Thanks, Ed!
