Located in Bloor West Village, the Old Mill Inn is a famous landmark in Toronto. The inn looks like it came straight from a fairytale, like it had once been occupied by Snow White and the seven dwarves. It's surrounded by gardens and trees — perfect for wedding photos and celebrations. The staff here are absolutely lovely, always accommodating their guests and making them feel as comfortable as possible. I was lucky enough to be invited to a wedding here. The ballroom is stunning, equipped with chandeliers and gorgeous decor that will transport you to the Italian Renaissance.
spend 2 nights here for a conference for work. Although it was raining and I did not get a chance to visit the spa, nor see all the grounds, I would return in a heartbeat! The rooms had a radio, with speakers in the bathroom where there was a jacuzzi tub, corner shower, and a separate closed area for the toilet. The Room was equipped with a mini bar and a fireplace and flatscreen. All in all the room was very confortable. The grounds from what I could see from inside, were well kept, with gardens and trees and mini ponds.
Very nice, and hoping to get back to visit it completely in the near future.
I've often gone by the Old Mill on the Toronto Subway and have wondered what the old almost medieval looking buildings were - upon first visit, I was very pleasantly surprised the it was actually the Old Mill Inn, which also includes great wedding facilities (such a cute little chapel!) a beautiful garden/outdoor area, and warm, classy bar and restaurant area that also host live music and performances. With an old-world country inn aesthetic - tons of wood, exposed brick, and windows throughout, antique wood furniture and high back parlour chairs - this hotel does a great job at making you feel very welcome. The service is friendly and there is such an inviting and homey feel to the whole place!
The rooms are spacious, though a little sparsely decorated. The bathrooms are well equipped and even have large soaker tubs!
Though a little far away from the downtown area, this one of the most interesting and charming of all the hotels in the city!
The Old Mill Inn and Spa looks like an English country inn from the middle ages, so I'm surprised to find that most of the buildings were added recently. It's an absolutely gorgeous place - a labyrinth of buildings connects ornate banquet rooms, a huge restaurant that doubles as a performance hall (live jazz and swing!), a garden patio, a spa and of course, the hotel. Everything is posh and cozy, and basically designed explicitly for weddings to occur in and around the beautiful grounds. There's even a pretty little chapel made of brick and wood, adding to the illusion that you are in the English countryside, and not straight off of the Bloor subway. The rooms are comfortable and plain, done in browns, beiges and maroons and every washroom has a soaker tub, which is a nice bonus. The location is a bit out of the way - this is not the place to stay if you are in town on business - but it's right next to the Humber River (yes, there used to be an actual, "Old Mill here), and there are scenic trails and even fishing nearby.
The magic of Old Mill...by day, it is a great place to be for urban hikers...by night, the magical spell of live music is being cast at a nearby inn with golden tunes of the oldies & big band jazz.
