The Sky Yard, as the patio is known to Drake regulars, is an all-weather patio, which is rare in Toronto where summer is generally three months long followed by a period of cold protracted weather. Here you can star gaze, both figuratively and literally, being known as a hot destination for celebrities during the Toronto International Film Festival (early September). Okay, so you may not see the whole Milky Way up here (thanks, air pollution), but you can still look up and spot Venus on a clear night while you sip an Old Fashioned with friends. You can also brunch on the patio on the weekend, which, to many Torontonians, is an unmissable part of their weekend.

The Drake Hotel boasts itself as the centre of trendiness, hipness, and cool in Toronto. It is a boutique hotel filled with different art installations in its nooks and crannies. One of the great things about The Drake are all the different zones you can go to, each with their own atmosphere and advantages. There is a music venue called the Underground, which gets some quality acts throughout the year, or the Sky Yard, a roof top patio that has been constantly ranked as one of the nicest in the city, just as examples. Worth a look just to have a good time!

It's the hotel that has it all - food, entertainment, accommodation. The Drake is a trendy boutique hotel for out-of-towners but it's also a place frequented, often religiously, by the locals. Each space has a different personality - whether it's the hotel rooms, the bars and restaurants or the basement concert venue. My favourite time to come is at brunch where comfort breakfasts with a twist are on offer (chicken and waffles, yum!). If you're lucky and it's a nice day, you'll be seated on the rooftop patio. On weekends, there's a line out the door to get into the bars - it's a crowd that likes to see and be seen so best to avoid it if you're not into that sort of scene.

The lounge is perfect for cocktails and gourmet snacks! At happy hour the cocktails AND the sushi are discounted. I'll definitely be back.

I enjoyed my visits to the Drake Hotel to see a few concerts. The food is tasty as well.

Good restaurants, cool bars and up and coming acts in the lounge downstairs. Never stayed in the rooms, but friends have and enjoyed it a lot. An alt-hotel. Streetcar at the door takes you downtown, or just walk down Queen Street west for some of the city's most interesting shopping.

Better known to Torontonians as a good place to go see DJs or to grab great brunch meals on weekends, the Drake Hotel is also an actual hotel too! The hotel is super stylist, from the front entrance through to the cafe, basement, and the rooms, and is even packed on most nights with stylish people!

The rooms themselves start at around$200, and though well decorated, are pretty small and cramped - seems pretty expensive, especially if you consider the fact that there aren't a lot of amenities included in the room cost. I guess you are paying more for style than substance, but two awesome pluses might make up for that...the musicians, DJ's, and events in general that are held there and the brunch menu. Try the fried chicken and waffles, the scones with house-made spreads, and the eggs benny!! If I could give the food a rating alone, i would give it 5 stars for sure...

The Drake Hotel is a party spot first, hotel second - at least for most Torontonians. With its popular event spaces, restaurant, cafe, rooftop lounge and underground club that features local and international DJs spinning cutting-edge music most nights of the week, do not expect a quiet, relaxing time if you're staying at The Drake. Located in Toronto's West End, it's also a good 30 minute streetcar ride to get downtown, and if you are visiting on business, or want to be close to tourist attractions like the CN Tower, this might not be the spot for you. If you want to be near cool galleries, great shopping, and funky bars however, then The Drake is a fun spot to mix and mingle with the pretty young things of Toronto. The rooms are all cool grey, browns and oranges, with playful details like stuffed animals and snacks from their downstairs shop. There are also lots of little extras available, like rental bikes, sexy "pleasure packages" and in-room spa treatments. Even if you don't stay here, come by for Sunday brunch and try the chicken and waffles and/or the scones - the best in the city.

Bit of a social community hotspot for the Queen West scene. The Drake underground hosts many indie local events. The Restaurant/Bar is a night time hot-spot for the 'urban cool'.
