walk down the promenade and take in the breathtaking views. There are a number of barbecue facilities, so you can grill up a picnic meal with your family and friends. Located across the road from the beach are a number of fine restaurants, cafes and hotels. A pair of inspectors patrol the beach every day, and there are trained, volunteer lifesavers on hand to help keep you and your loved ones safe.

there's nothing much on Coogee but it's definitely better than the overcrowded bondi. I'd start from bondi and walk to the subsequent beaches but when I get a little too tired from walking, I would take a bus for a quick ride to Coogee where I enjoy the rest of my day chilling on the beach :)

This is a great beach to come to, can get quite packed in the summer. Lovely cafes and restaurants with plenty of parking just at the top of the beach. Walk up the path to the left to see stunning views!

Everyone always raves about Bondi, but I actually found Coogee to be my favorite out of all the beaches I've been to near Sydney. Only 30 min bus ride away from the city, Coogee is large with much more to explore than the beach. Definitely go to the "baths" to the left side of the beach and go into the not so secret "pool" area. Also has a great fish and chips place, Chish and Fips. A little pricey, but undoubtedly delicious!

Further south than Bondi, this is probably my favourite of the Eastern Suburbs beaches. Accessible by bus from the city or more easily from Bondi Junction, you can also walk here through Tamarama and Bronte from Bondi beach. The soft golden sand and expansive green areas make this a perfect spot for lounging around for the day and there are also some great bars if you fancy a cold beer in the sun.

My favourite out of the Eastern Suburb beaches, and if you don't feel like crowds or sand, follow the walking path north around the point towards Gordons Bay.

Pretty, pretty Coogee ("could-jee") makes a good alternative to the packed and hipstery scene further north at Bondi. Popular with families, it gets quite busy on weekends, and makes a good option for extending the Bondi-to-Bronte to a full half-day.

Another Epic Sydney beach. There is a little ocean water filled pool for kiddies to swim, and otherwise an expansive beach front for everyone else. It is a bit farther outside of the central district but there are a few buses that make the journey.

Better than Bondi. Calmer waves and people with better food and facilities.
