The historic and important capital city of Suva on Viti Levu’s south eastern coast is the central city in a bustling metropolitan area containing 1/3 the entire population of Fiji. culturally vibrant modern city, comprising a large portion of the area’s population. The climate here is within the tropical forest ecosystem, so expect significant rain. Tourists will find this area great if you are looking for modern attractions, but as far as beaches go, Suva has pretty much none. The coastal areas here are instead lined with mangroves or development right on up to the waters edge. Still, Suva is certainly worth exploring, as it is an exceptionally sophisticated developing city. In fact, the whole of French Polynesian’s vast potential can be thought of as on display in this modern and well developed metropolitan hot spot.

This is the capital of Fiji and a great little city to wander around. Great shopping if you are in for that. A nice market right next to the port. We got the best internet at one of the hotels.

The capital and where all the policy makers, aid workers, and business leaders sit. No need to visit it if you do not have business there, but if you are going there anyways there are a number of fun bars, some good food, and paradise is just a couple hours away.
