The best zoo in the southern Midwest and it’s FREE!! I put this zoo right up there with Omaha and San Diego. Can’t miss for a date or for hanging with the kids.

Great attractions! Beautiful green spaces. We went 2 days in a row and Still didn't see everything. Sunday the parking was very far away with a long walk. I recommend getting all day passes for the train to get around. I will definitely go back.

This zoo is huge! The best thing is that admission is free. We are a family if 6 so we bought the 90 dollar membership which gives you free trains, children's zoo and all of the shows! That was a steal! The Friday live band was amazing! Bring in your own coolers and enjoy!

Has to be one of the best zoos around, it has free admission and parking is reasonable. It has lots of things to do, the children's zoo cost to go in but it is reasonable and the train ride costs too but it isn't very much.

FREE Zoo in the large park. Parking may be difficult. I only saw a part of it but it was pretty good. There's a little train that runs through the zoo. Many different animals from different parts of the world. A LOT of Asian elephants!

Has to be one of the best zoos in the United States. Doesn't cost anything to enter but the shows cost a little and they have a children's petting zoo that is worth the small price. The sea lions exhibit is amazing as well as the penguins and polar bars. The way they have them set up you get up close and personal. I forgot the hippos exhibit it's also amazing you get to watch them above water as well as under water. We didn't want to leave. You are also allowed to bring in coolers and your own food but they do have restaurants that are pricey but also worth it cause the park is free. They have to make money some way other than just donations. Must do if you go to St. Louis.

Fantastic place to visit if your looking to see a variety of animals. Lions, tigers, and polar bears, oh my indeed. The penguin exhibit is awesome so be sure to check that out. Bring the kids, bring your partner. Fun for everyone!

Clean and friendly atmosphere. Admission is free. Parking is reasonable. Extra activities such as the train ride and children zoo cost extra. However there is plenty to do for free.

After a dozen times, the zoo still holds its ‘magic’ for me. Who can resist gorillas at the Jungle of the Apes or lions and tigers in their natural habitats at Big Cat Country? At Sea Lion Sound, amidst the barking and flipper-flapping, park rangers please the crowds by feeding fishy snacks to the residents. Up the hill lies my family’s favorite attraction -the herpetarium. I don’t have a penchant for snakes, but I love studying the Reptile House’s 700-plus vipers, skinks, and Gila monsters from relative safety behind protective glass. Before you go, snicker at those silly tuxedoed birds frolicking in the arctic waters at the Penguin and Puffin Coast.
