Description
The City Museum is the place to be if you want to enjoy one-of-a-kind attractions like the Enchanted Caves, where visitors take a conveyor belt up 10 stories and come back down on a spiral slide. The ... Read more
World Aquarium is here, so if you have a strong urge to pet a stingray, this is the perfect place. When the weather is nice, head to the roof and take a ride on the Ferris wheel. After all of the excitement, wind down and have a bite to eat at one of several eateries before shopping for vintage clothing at The Baleout.

Seriously the coolest children’s museum I’ve been to. Not just for kids-super fun for parents too!

This is extremely popular. If you have kids under 50. You will enjoy this. Lol.

A quirky eccentric place that is fun for everyone. Right in the middle if the city, you should stop by and let your inner child out.

A bit on the expensive side, but unique and a lot of fun for tyke kids. Not really a museum as much as a playground built by steampunk artistes.

As we walked in, I wondered why there were little kids running around with headlamps, and why there were adults wearing kneepads; I soon found out. For the price of admission ($10 at the time of this review, plus $5 to access the roof), you get a LOT. If a museum, jungle gym, amusement park, and rock concert got together and had a baby, then fed the baby a steady diet of adrenaline, sugar, and LSD, then THIS is what you would get...or maybe if Tim Burton built a real-life Chutes & Ladders game. We crawled all over the exhibits, through the caves (ah, a light comes on...headlamps would've been helpful here) and metal sculpture (hence, kneepads...I am SO bruised). We twisted and turned through as many of the tunnels and features as we could...I'm a chef with, um, jolly proportions, so there were some areas, I just could NOT get through...! We made it to the 10th floor, and went back down via a spiral slide.

I loved seeing all the architectural details...it appears as though all the coolest details from all the buildings that've ever been demolished in town were collected up and used...pillars, gargoyles, arches, and engraved stones...there were pieces of original art throughout, mosaic flooring, restored pinball machines, art stations for the little ones, restaurants, a gift shop, and amazing features everywhere you looked.

We only had two hours to visit this place, but it is already on the top of our list for our next trip to St. Louis!

For reference, I am a 40yo woman, and my kids are an 18yo boy and a 14 yo girl, and we all loved it!

I spent my childhood in the city museum! Great place to spend the day with kids! There are caves inside you can explore along with a slide that runs through the whole building and a make shift amusement park on the roof of the building. Originally built as an art project, the city museum is an authentic and fun part of saint Louis. Adults have fun too!

Be prepared to crawl, climb, and explore your way through an incredibly creative maze. Everything in the museum is a space to climb through! I went with a group of college kids and took us 2-3 hours to make our way through everything. It's very easy to get lost and quite the challenge to get around for someone with any physical limitations.

Awesome playground museum for all ages but especially kids. Wear shoes, knee pads, and good pants for sliding. There's many different themed areas both indoors and outdoors. Don't be surprised if you lose your kid.

At the St. Louis city museum both kids and adults can share the adventure traversing through a variety of obstacles. There are rides, slides, tunnels, ladders, swings, and playgrounds scattered throughout the building. There's something to do for people of all ages but especially children. Great for families, couples, tourists, and locals too. Unlike any place I've ever seen before. A must do for anyone who visits or lives in St. Louis.

The City Museum is truly unique in every sense of the word and almost indescribable. Made largely from repurposed architectural remnants, it’s part history museum and part playground for kids and adults alike.

What a cool place. Had me climbing around like a kid, though there was nothing childish about the height. Definitely should have brought some knee pads.

Great place for a day of family fun at a reasonable price. Not the best place to be if you are claustrophobic or afraid of heights!
