Ever since Seoul’s meteoric rise to global prominence in the late 20th century, the South Korean capital has gained recognition for its sleekness, nightlife and size. However, some of Seoul’s most prized possessions unfortunately get lost in the shuffle and vacationers to this 'Asian tiger' should check out Seoul’s softer side. A highlight in the city is a visit to one of the five palaces, like Gyeongbokgung Palace, that formerly housed the Korean royal families, where you can watch reenactments of ancient ceremonies or learn a few Taekwondo moves. Stick with history at the National Museum of Korea, which houses almost a quarter of a million pieces of Korean archaeology, history, and art. Like most residents of chaotic Seoul, you'll likely ... want peace and quiet. Good thing Seoul is surrounded by a chain of sloping mountains, all within walking distance of Seoul's good public transportation system. Try Bukhansan National Park for a bit of hiking nearby, or Ansan, right in the city center. Restaurants abound, and street food is everywhere. Since Seoul is a business city, book your hotel in advance, as they fill up quickly.
Seoul has four distinct seasons and really runs the gamut, both in terms of temperature and precipitation. The winters are fairly dry but temperatures often hover around freezing. Summers are hot and the bulk of the year’s rain falls during July and August. Temperatures peak in the 70s (21°-26°C) and nature brings forth beautiful blossoms and brightly-colored foliage during spring and fall, respectively. No matter when you travel, check a lunar calendar before you go; Korea’s biggest holidays, the Lunar New Year and the Harvest Moon Festival, can mean that bus tickets sell out months in advance.

Seoul is a city from the past. Seoul is the city of the future. A delicious blend of old and new, this is one of my favourite cities in the world. Many travellers will tell you the same thing, too. And there's a reason for that. There's innovation, trendsetters, inviting neighbourhoods, and some beautiful natural scenery that will keep anyone coming back.

I like Seoul. One of few holiday destinations that I wouldn't mind to keep on going back. It has everything I ever wanted while travelling to a city, the modern technologies which goes synergy with the tradition. Plenty of mouth watering food as far as eyes' view. Scenic nature and cityscape, history, culture, and many more. Indeed worth visiting.

Seoul is the city that doesn't sleep. So much things to do that I don't know where to begin.

Each time I travel to Seoul, I am amazed with the amount of growth and things to do. It's a city that can rival any similar city in the U.S.

Seoul at night viewed from the Seoul N-Tower. You will never get bored visiting here. By the way, Seoul's Teddy Bear Museum is located at this tower.

This is specifically a review for the Lotus Lantern Festival that took place in Seoul. It was fantastic. I only went one day, but it goes on much longer than that. Everyone's a hero for the day. So many beautiful lanterns and smiling faces. You can even make your own lanterns and participate in the parade itself.

Seoul is one of the largest cities in the world and it is extremely apparent when you visit. The city is seemingly crammed into whatever flat land is available within the mountainous region. Known as the "Miracle on the Han," Seoul has rapidly become one of the most powerful cities in the world after its destruction in the 1950s Korean War. The city has a ton to offer but it is usually hard for westerners to figure that out at first glance(including myself).
