The Pink Door was on restaurant week, so my friend and I tried it. Whimsical restaurant, but not up to par with what I was hoping for in a high end meal.

Incredible restaurant in Pikes Alley with live aerial and burlesque performances during dinner. Probably top 5 favorite places.

Lovely restaurant with a beautiful view of the sound. Interesting mix of seafood and Italian food. Definitely worth a visit!

Tales have been told and compliments given aplenty to this establishment of lore. Through research and referral we excitedly ended up entering the infamous Pink Door! Transported to a time gone by, hushed mellow yellow lights enveloped us, while smooth jazz played in the distance. The decor told their own tales of extravagance, adventure and familiarity of a night not wasted. We chose a seat just outside on a sizely porch woven through with the same flavors as inside, but with the added bonus of the brilliantly quiet beauty of the Seattle waterside. We ordered after much consternation and waited while enjoying the play of magic twinkling in reflection of moon and shooting stars upon the lake beyond. Such a wondrous experience it had been thus far...until the food arrived. The pasta was far from al dente and the sauce overwhelmingly perfumed of the one certain herb in the green mushroom pasta dish I had ordered. The sauce was far from creamy, as I had been forewarned by the waiter, so I digress. The dessert of raspberry upside down cake was mediocre at best. I do feel that perhaps the whole style of Italian food was more of either north or southern Italy, as I know they have quite a different style and I think I prefer the opposite. If you like heavy creamy homey Italian cuisine then perhaps this also might not be your cup of tea. I do thank the Pink Door for the ambiance and magic albeit the unsatisfying meal.

One of my personal favorites, The Pink Door is amazing in the summer. Sit outside on the large deck with views of Puget Sound and enjoy a cocktail and a delicious meal from this tasty eatery.

The food is to die for and the location is off the beaten track. Looks like a hole in the wall-type place then you go in and it's awesome. Great for special dates.

Dinner was impeccable (grilled scallops), but still didn't top the aptly named "Booby cake!"

The Pink Door is made especially if you want to enjoy a show. With dinner involved, you get to get best of both worlds. We made a reservation about 8:15pm while we were in seattle trying out dinner in the neighborhood of Pike Market district and low and behold, there was a show that came with our dinner on a Tuesday night at 8:45pm and it was amazing. A lady came and danced and did some aerials moves while we were enjoying our dinner. The dinner on the other hand was quite delicious. The server recommended the special which was a cod with brocolini and ricotta. It was really good and smooth especially since seafood is right near the water next to seattle. They don't even have to import to get fish. I really enjoyed the food while getting to watch the show.

Parking was free after 8pm if you could find a spot.

One of my favorite spots from my nighttime bar tour of Seattle. The Pink Door is an Italian-American bistro with a patio, live music, amazing cocktails and very good food. It's not cheap, but you can share a few plates to make things affordable. Service is wonderful. It's a pretty and romantic spot. Good for bigger groups and families too.

A delightful Italian restaurant in Post Alley near the Pike Place Market. This intimate restaurant has a colorful patio overlooking the Puget Sound and free entertainment (including cabaret) every night except Mondays.

This place can be a little hard to find. It's right across and downstairs from Kell's Irish Pub. They are usually busy, but if you can't get a reservation, not to worry. They keep a certain amount of tables open for walk-ins.

The Pink Door Lasagna is amazing. They also have a sauteed calamari appetizer that was also really good. It's the first time I've had calamari that wasn't deep fried. My friends got some bolognese pasta, and that was good, too!

Service was great and hey also have a trapeze act every 10 minutes starting at 7pm.

Definitely check it out if you're looking for a place to eat in the market.

This place has the most romantic ambiance. The decor is adorable and has a very European feel. They also have trapezes hanging from the ceiling because apparently they have burlesque dancers performing on Saturday nights! Their pasta is handmade and incredibly fresh. I had the calamari and mushroom cream pasta with truffle oil. So delicious! Highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who is visiting Seattle. Just be sure to make reservations ahead of time because this restaurant is incredibly popular!

A very unique spot in Pike Place market, great for couples getting together for drinks or even just listening to the live piano music inside.

I even had my sisters bachelorette party brunch here it could've been more perfect! We love the outside patio.

The best thing about this place is the Pink Door and the hidden location. The food is OK but not great. It's somewhat romantic, but the decor is tired. It just feels a bit touristy. Definitely not a must if you are looking for super food. But not bad if you are in the neighborhood.

Came on a Monday for the aerial hoop... my fiance requested to be seated inside since that's where she performs... they gave us outside :(

ENTRANCE:
Look for THE PINK DOOR. No sign. No arrows. Just THE PINK DOOR. Literally.

Inside:
The inside area is decked in vintage, 1930s look to it. It's very romantic at night. Especially with the aerial hoop performance.

Outside:
You get a view of the water area and Pike's Place, but it's ok. Thank goodness for perfect weather.

FOOD:
I got the veggie lasagna because it's suppose to be the most famous... but it was alright. It had a lot of sauce. I actually couldn't finish it all too because it was too bland for me. I had to put a lot of Parmesan cheese on it.

Calamari - This was pretty good. :D It was light and very good to have as a starter.

SERVICE:
Kinda slow. I was kinda upset that we requested indoors and because we were late, we sat outside and didnt get to see the hoop girl. :/

OVERALL:
It was an ok experience.

I usually don't pick Italian restaurants to visit in cities because I don't really get to, plus some of them really just aren't good (think Maggianos ... "authentic" Italian for sure! ...) but had to try this place after seeing the pictures and how cute it looked.

This was definitely a hard find because it's in an alley and there isn't really a huge visible sign. Google maps and iPhone even failed me because I was staring at the door screaming at my phone going "IT SAYS I AM HERE?!?!?!" ...

Eventually we did find it and got seated promptly. Apparently we just missed a burlesque-like show as I saw the actress walk by with one of the fanciest headdresses ever.

The service was good, the mood was VERY romantic haha ... and the food was great. Their lasagna was definitely one for the books. I enjoyed my dining experience here and now I can say I found a great Italian place I wouldn't mind coming back to!
