Set on the hilltop in downtown Seattle, the Fairmont Olympic was just what I was looking for as a hotel for relaxation and a place to unwind. Historically, the building has been around for almost 100 years, and seen a lot of Seattle's history. We dined at both Shuckers and The Georgian, and it is quite expensive but a really great time. It felt as if I were being thrown into the 1920's. Aesthetically the building is gorgeous and the staff was very friendly and helpful, and the rooms are very large for the location. I am a huge fan of the beauty products in the rooms as well, they smell incredible.

I spent a lot of time in the oversized hot tub and pool, which is just off of the gym, while the rain was coming down outside.

Location wise, I loved that all I had to do was walk down University a few city blocks to find myself up in the 'U' district where all of the night life, vintage and boutique shopping. I found myself in the perfect location for wandering in all directions, even down to Pike's Place Market in time for happy hour dining at various restaurants.

I was extremely impressed with the concierge and bellmen. They went out of their way to help charge phones and were kind in holding luggage for us even after our checkout so that we could wander the city until our 7 p.m. departing train out of Seattle.

I highly recommend this property if you are looking for something along the lines of a luxury property at more of an affordable price.

Lovely Hotel with all the class and style of you expect from a Fairmont. The location is okay. You are on the outer edge of the shopping district and a cab ride away from the Pike Market.

The rooms were nice, the building gorgeous! And the food! If you cannot stay here at least have breakfast or lunchor dinner... honey from their own hives on the roof, salad fresh and crisp and the steak, incredibly tender. The staff were friendly, helpful and gracious. we forgot a bag in teh room adn had to drive an hour back for it - thye had it ready and waiting for us :)

The oldest hotel in Seattle, the most class, the best service, and lovely character. If you are looking for history and elegance than this is the hotel of choice in Seattle. From the doorman to the lobby you will find that this Fairmont makes its clients feel like a a quadrillion bucks. I suggest visiting their lobby during Christmas as the decor would make scrooge love Christmas. Most rooms I've stayed in are extra spacious, like you can fit 2 king size beds in there and all rooms have high ceilings.
When I travel I always look for the workout facility and the Olympic's is pretty good. Pool, spa, dry sauna, cardio machines, and free weights, all the necessities. My favorite stay in Seattle!

Pricey, but really nice. The bartenders are especially awesome, but really the whole staff is great and helpful without being stuffy. I do wish the internet was free (or at least cheaper) and worked a little better, but I guess there’s so much to do in the hotel and the area that there’s no good reason to spend a lot of time online anyway.

The Fairmont is just stunning. If you can afford it, it’s absolutely worth treating yourself – all of the staff are always extremely nice, the rooms are beautiful, it’s just a great experience. And the location is amazing! During certain times of year, especially Christmas, it does tend to get busy and crowded both inside and around the hotel, but (for me, anyway) that’s just part of the fun. The Georgian is a gorgeous restaurant and I bet the food is exquisite, but honestly, I recommend you try Shuckers. They’ve got an amazing selection of oysters (my favorite: Willapa Bay) and you can get them raw, pan fried, barbecued, and lots of other ways – SO good! And they have pretty great deals during happy hour, like fish and chips for $4, or steamed mussels for $3.

Staying in this place is like a fairy tale – it’s so elegant and polished, down to the last detail. If you’re not visiting on business or for some sort of event, you’ve got to wander around the ballroom, the foyer, the garden…it’s just such a beautiful building. The rooms are lovely too – the regular guestrooms aren’t exactly huge, but they’re perfectly comfortable. If you’re around during the holidays, all the better! The Fairmont does a tree lighting ceremony, and the lobby is even more stunning with all the decorated trees. The fitness center and swimming pool are great as well. And the Fairmont is located right in the middle of downtown Seattle, so it’s really easy to walk to places like the convention center, Westlake and all the malls, the art museum, both theatres, Pike Place Market, and tons of restaurants and bars.
