The Moore Hotel is old and feels old. They don't have modern amenities and even the elevator feels creaky. Great place if you want to soak in some history. It's right above the Moore Theatre which is one of Seattle's best music venues.

I noticed that every floor has a different color scheme in the hallway, which is kind of cool, but since my room was only on the one floor it didn't impact my stay very much. The big suites are fairly enormous one-room apartments with a functioning kitchen that feels like an old building in Manhattan.

Great if you’re not looking for anything too modern. It’s an old building, and really well maintained, but you still have creaky floors and doors with giant bolt-locks. The room was small but fine for one person, and the price is great, especially considering the location.

Compared to the prices for suites in most of the hotels in downtown Seattle, the Moore is a total bargain. My suite had an enormous living room, a dining table, a full kitchen, plus a separate bedroom and bathroom. The funky furniture, black and white pics of James Dean and Elvis, and crazy colored bathroom were awesome! The whole suite had lots of windows with a great view. The Nitelite Lounge next door is open till 2am and has a daily 4-6 happy hour; it’s a great place to try a few of Seattle’s own microbrews. One warning, though – on the weekends and sometimes during the week there will probably be a show at the adjoining Moore Theatre, and it can get kind of loud.

This is one of the best hotel deals in downtown Seattle. The building is historic but well-maintained, and the decor is hip without being pretentious. I love that they still use real keys instead of those cards! If you’re trying to stick to a tight budget, the single and double occupancy European style rooms are a great option, as they share community restrooms. Rooms with private bathrooms are also available, and each room has its own charm with antique lighting and chic furnishing. One of the best reasons to stay at the Moore is the location – you’re just three blocks from Pike Place Market and Westlake Center. Definitely check out Serious Pie just down Virginia St at 4th Avenue; between 3pm and 5pm their gourmet mini-pizzas are only $6. And before you head out to explore the city in the morning, stop by the Moore Cafe next door – in winter, the eggnog lattes are the best!
