have to queue for lifts, toilets were super super tiny, bedrooms not much bigger. it's cheaper than the average hotel at least.

Pros: Fabulous decor, NO kids, comfortable beds, nice view, fairly close to Pike Market. Also...can't forget the helpful staff.

Cons: SMALL bathroom. The layout is quite odd. Its long but narrow. There is no counter space to put out bathroom toiletries and I had to "live out of my suitcase" instead of feeling a little more "at home." The shower curtain is a solid dark gray as opposed to the ones with the clear top portion like at The Westin or Seattle Renaissance Hotel. Consequently, I had awkwardly dark showers.

Lack of closet space. Very tiny closet with ironing board which is taking up the already little space in there. Not enough space for our luggage in the room or the closet. I was traveling with a girlfriend of mine so we had two large suit cases and one carry on. I had no where to put my carry on and her bag just barely fit next to the closet. We had two queen beds and I felt like we were in one king, that's how little space are between the beds. Also, since we booked on priceline we weren't offered free wifi. But no way would I pay the going rate to stay here. Last but not least, the elevators are so tiny we felt like sardines going up with 3 people, 2 suitcases and 1 carry on.

Also...hotel parking is $30 a day. :/

There are def better hotels in Seattle.

Great hotel at a value!

Location is walking distance to shops, restaurants and salons. The parking garage is TIGHT but they have valet parking. Take them up on it. Then leave your car parked for the weekend and walk to shops or cab to Pike Place Market.

I read a few complaints online about how Hotel Max is cool but old and small - but for me, old isn’t something to complain about. I guess if you’re looking for super-modern and roomy, maybe you shouldn’t check into an older little boutique. I love the artsy vibe at Hotel Max, and the rooms are indeed small but really comfy. Plus in the summer the air conditioning cools down the room that much faster. And they offer a pillow menu, which is pretty cool! If you like sushi, definitely try Red Fin downstairs, it’s a fantastic restaurant. Happy hour is the best time to go because the prices are awesome - even if you don’t like sushi, there’s lots of other great stuff on the menu, like tempura and even a burger. Plus beers tend to run about $3-$4.

Hotel Max is ridiculously hip, and I mean that as a compliment. If you’re looking for a funky (but still really comfortable) boutique hotel in downtown Seattle, this is it. The art in the lobby and in the rooms (all different!) is amazing, really colorful and cool. It’s not your cheapest option downtown, and the rooms aren’t that big, although they are really nice, and the service is great. The pillows are awesome (yes, that’s worth an extra mention!). Location is of course wonderful – you’re really close the the monorail so it’s easy to get to the Space Needle (although honestly the walk is pretty easy too), and you’ve got lots of great restaurants and cafes around. Jazz Alley is just a block away on 6th – if you like great live music in a cozy atmosphere, I definitely recommend checking it out.

This hotel has enough charm and appeal to make up for it's tiny rooms. Every piece of it's decor is colorful and exciting, and will make you feel like some kind of hip, creative-type. The Sushi restaurant downstairs has a fun menu, and you even get a coupon when you register. The quality of the food is not so bad, but better can definitely be had elsewhere.

It's unlikely that you'll ever forget staying at a place like this.
