This hotel is very fancy. It is located next to a highway and to San Cristóbal Hill, Santiago’s main attraction. Its style is very elegant and standard. However, its beautiful views of the city are what makes this place so great. Because it’s not surrounded by massive buildings, the rooms in the top floors have an amazing view of Santiago’s skyline and the Andes mountain range. The rooms are big and have anything a guest would need. The are where the hotel stands is sort of remote and there aren’t many things to do nearby. It is also hard to reach this place by foot, so I suggest renting a car or coming with lots of money to spend on taxis.

For me, The San Cristobal Tower is one of the most luxurious hotels in Santiago. It boasts an incredible location being just a few minutes away from the Cerro San Cristobal, in the middle of all the action. I thought the rooms were huge and, for me, they ticked all the boxes in terms of comfort and relaxation. One of the best characteristics was the fact that the bath and shower were separated in the bathroom and this meant that there was lots of space. The view from the breakfast room was 360 degrees. It was incredible and offered a really beautiful appreciation of the Cerro San Cristobal in the morning. The indoor and outdoor pool, as well as the gym — which are all shared with the Sheraton next door — were two features I thought were particularly special.

San Cristobal Tower is one of the best hotels in Santiago to order your first Chilean Pisco Sour - a very popular alcoholic drink that Chileans go mad for. The hotel's linked to The Sheraton next door and so guests can make use of the outdoor and indoor pools and all the bars and restaurants in The Sheraton, but they can also get access to all the finer luxuries on offer in the San Cristobal Tower. The rooms were particularly amazing, I have to say, and the ceramic floor in the bathroom was an original feature and very, very attractive to look at. The bath was separate from the shower and so there was lots of room. It was a flawless hotel, a really lovely place to stay, but it's very expensive and perhaps it would be better to pay these prices and stay in a hotel located within the city centre to be close to all the historic and cultural features of Santiago.

First off there are two parts to this hotel, one is the regular rooms. It seems people here are confusing that with the tower. The San Crisotbal Tower is a very posh luxury stay especially on the upper floors. Make sure to book a room on a high floor as it looks out over the whole city from panoramic windows. Everything about the rooms is luxury down to the fine details.

If you do stay here make sure to make your way to the rooftop lounge at night for a drink and good simple fair. Perfect for the first night you fly in. Take your drink out on to the little patio to see the lights and mountains rise above the city.

You can tell someone put careful thought and plenty of money into designing this hotel: the rooms use their space so efficiently that you don't even notice they're a little small. There's not one, but two pools – one outside, resorty kind of pool and one inside and heated. The whole hotel is so big you could fit the population of a small city into it. But you can see where details are not being attended to: one section of the lobby ceiling looked like it had undergone construction and never fully put back together. I heard guests complain about the internet being intermittent, and the quality of the coffee. The interior design of the lobby seemed a little generic. Maybe i'm being overly harsh, but i'm giving this hotel three stars because it's big and pricy enough to be really high-quality, but I still managed to walk away with a “meh” feeling. Oh, but I did like the fact that they had a scale in the bathroom – most hotels don't think of that particular detail.

There are many things that the Sheraton does well and one of them is doing big well. They do big parties, big conferences or just a lot of room for a lot of people. They have been doing major renovations for the last several months and they successfully hide this fact well. The building is 40 years old but the hotel still feels modern and current. A few restaurants to choose from including the much written about "elcid". Their amenities are top notch including both their indoor and outdoor pool and the gym is missing nothing. I do however, think this Shearaton has more than a few too many young staff that are not as professional as it could or should be. An inappropriate client came yelling to reception about bad coffee, slow internet among other things and the staff stood around like children instead of neutralizing the situation like professionals. Perhaps what the Sheraton needs to focus on is the smaller details.
