This hotel is tasteful and elegant, located in one of the most exclusive areas of Santiago. Its decoration is classic and it works great with the architecture of the place. However, this is a place where people can also relax and escape from the busy city. The rooms have beautiful and calming views to the mountains and the pool is on the 17th floor, so enjoying a swim there is a treat. In the terrace there are also nice chairs and seats to enjoy a drink and watch the city. Las Condes is and expensive area but very beautiful and modern. The rooms are huge and have lots of space, which is always a plus if you are traveling with your family.

The thing which most grabbed my attention about this hotel was the size of the apartments. They were very, very spacious — enough to fit five adults without any issues — and it’s possible to request extra beds when traveling in large groups. I also really liked the apartment’s balcony. There was enough space for a family to enjoy their time in the sunshine without feeling cramped and the kitchen was really well equipped in my opinion. It had all the facilities that anyone would need to be able to have fun in the kitchen during their stay. I like to cook, so this was important to me. The restaurant was a kind of bistro. Breakfast was included and served in this restaurant, but dinner in the bistro came at an additional cost.

I really liked these suites. There was a lot of space in each suite. Two bathrooms, a full kitchen, large beds and equally large closets. The bathrooms were spotless and the shower was more like walking into a wet room. The best feature of the room, in my opinion, was the balcony. It was massive — one of the widest balconies I have seen in any apartment building in Santiago. There were beautiful views of the Andean mountain range and I felt very free and comfortable. I also loved the choice of flowers around the building. They had chosen “callas” — a kind of lily which I find particularly beautiful. I’d recommend staying here, but it’s not the kind of place to stay if you’re expecting the hotel experience, as they’re more suites than hotel rooms.

This is a great bang for the buck. For $150 ($130 in the off season) you get a fully equipped apartment - complete with kitchen, dining room, living room and lovely bedroom. It's all new - it was renovated in the last year - and very comfortable. There isn't a pool or a gym or anything, but it does include breakfast, wifi and parking. The design is pleasant and welcoming, the staff seem friendly too, though they're maybe not as speedy as they could be.

Puerto Varas

Quiet, lovely, spacious, light-filled rooms decorated in soft pistachio greens and winter-whites and complete with kitchenette force you to leave your stress and fatigue behind. WiFi is available in common areas, but you must pay to use it in the rooms (?!). It has no pool, but it's centrally located next to major streets and business centers, it's surrounded by trees and brick pastel buildings, and it manages to offer what's most important: rest! A small sauna, massage room and gym in its basement complete the picture.
