A very nice, one of the larger, Little Sheep restaurants in the Bay Area. Came here for a birthday dinner. Got a ton of food and beer. Everything was good - I would recommend trying the beer marinated and wine marinated meats at least once. They were, in my humble opinion, one of the more tender meats that we got.

Seating in a circular booth was kind of a con though. Service staff wouldn't come around often enough for our needs. We'd have to stand up to wave someone down.

Parking does suck in the area, but find a public garage and walk a little bit. Takes card.

A good hot pot place but can get a little pricey. Plus their lamb portions are smaller compared to other places that ive been too. A really like their broth however their spicey is not that spicey.

The broth is really good. It is expensive but worth it. The only thing I didn't like was the fish balls. The meat and veggies delicious.

little sheep is always one of the best transitional Chinese hot pots on my list. I have been to the one in Cupertino for several times, this is the first time I came to the one in San Mateo. It's equally good food, but the service is not as good as Cupertino. Maybe because we were there about 9pm. We were trying to ask for a box for left overs, we had to wait about 10 minutes until some one came to us.

But we came there for the hot pot, so at least the food itself is great.

Best Chinese hot pot ever! I think most people are more used to Japanese Shabu Shabu where you have different soup base tastes and you dip your food in sauces. This is a different style--it's healthy! The soup bases are made with Chinese herbs and you don't use sauces to dip your food. The spicy one is really spicy; I'm glad we got half and half. Another thing about this place--you order the number of platters of each item you want instead of getting individual servings. More family style. Not too expensive either.

The wait can be long on the weekend, so come earlier to put your name down and shop around dt San Mateo. My friend and I went to get boba at TPumps.

Ah this brings me back to the days when I lived in Beijing. It's sad when you come to a Little Sheep Hot Pot here in America, because in Beijing, the Little Sheep Hot Pot tastes better and is 1/4 of the price. But we're not in Beijing, so I will rate this place on American hot pot standards.

This place looks so nice inside for a hot pot joint and the portions are huge. Great food, but a bit on the pricey side, so don't order too much. Don't order the Premium Beef Slices (they're really substandard)... instead splurge that extra $3.00 for the Sliced Fatty Beef which is so worth the price. Delicious soup base -- I expected the spicy ma la soup to be even spicier, but it was ok. Goes great with a nice cold beer and some tea to neutralize all that beef fat.

Reservations for parties of 6 or more. Quite authentic and a global chain. You can get spicy or non-spicy soup base to dip your food in. Don't forget your dipping sauces or a raw egg!

Really good hot pot in San Mateo. Their broth is fancier than other hot pots I've been to. It comes to the table with garlic, peppers, and mushrooms floating in it to give it more flavor.

There are a couple of Little Sheep Hot Pot restaurants around the Bay Area, and also in Southern California. I really like their broth options -- super flavorful and they have a few options. Be warned that their broths are heavy on the MSG...but I guess that's what makes them somewhat tasty! I really like the vegetarian mushroom broth. Their meat quality is pretty decent, not amazing but pretty good. The decor of the restaurant is open and clean, with lots of booths for groups of all sizes. Service is speedy, except when you are waiting for a table. Go at off-peak times to avoid the long wait times.

This is probably the best hotpot place that serves Sichuan hotpot. The ingredients are very fresh and they have a great selection of all sorts of mushrooms. Yum! So it is no surprise that it is always packed. Try to go off dinner hours to avoid the wait.

Little Sheep is one of my favorite hot pot restaurants in bay area. As soon as you walk in, you will notice the modern vibe decor, spacious dining area and the effective ventilation.

The quality of their meat is alright. In all honesty it is probably not hard to find better meat for that price. Even the supreme lamb shoulder are beef are not very tender. The broth is what makes this place great. Get their half spicy half original broth if you are a hot pot novice. You can't go wrong with that.

Their handmade meatballs are dense, smooth and springy with a rich meat flavor. Make sure you try their assorted house made meat balls or the meat balls platter. You won't be disappointed.

Their lamp dumplings is another of my favorite. The taste might be too strong for those who are not used to mutton or lamb. I would only recommend them to big mutton fan like myself.
